About Julissa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a middle blocker, i paly fast and adaptable game. i'm good at reading hitters and adjusting my block quickly, and more well along the net to close blocks with my teammate. offensively i'm comfortable running quicks and adjusting to different plays. i stay aware of the game and react fast so i can help my team on the offense and defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

my mentaily on the court is really focused and competitive. I stay positive and keep my energy high, even when games get tough. I'm also a supportive teammate and always try to communicate and encourage everyone on the court. Im always look for ways to improve, learn from mistakes and do whatever i can to help my team succeed.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Im involved in HOSA at my school. being part of HOSA has helped me build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. through meeting, events, and competitions, i've learned more about careers in healthcare and how to work with others to solve problems now .

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed strong qualities like leadership, teamwork,adn community service. i've learned how to communicate well with others, support my teammate , and step up when leadership is needed. being involved in these activities has also helped me understand the importance of helping my community and working together to make a positive impact.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced challenges like balancing school, sports, and personal life, and dealing with mistakes during games, i've learned to stay focused, manage my time and keep a positive mindset no matter what. volleyball has taught me to learn from every mistake , work hard and stay confident, and bring the same drive and mindset to every practice and match.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for colleges that will let me combine my passion for volleyball with my goal of ongoing into the medical field. Ideally I want a school with a strong pre-med or health sciences programs, good research opportunities and supportive professor who can help me grow academically. I'd also like a place where I can continue competing at a high level in volleyball.
