When it comes to setters, it all comes down to how they manage the court. Kelsey Green is a QB1 for Elevation 16 Renfro. She is so quick with her feet, but completely under control where she plays with plenty of poise and maturity. The game slows down for her where she knows how to get her attacker in position to be successful. I saw her run a 5-1 where she also defends her position well and has great control along the net. Elevation will be in gold pools for 16 Open on Saturday.

Green (*pictured) continues to establish herself as one of the top setting talents in this Ohio class. Over the club season she showcased a broad range of tools in leading her Elevation team’s offense through a very competitive club schedule. She is great in system but even more impressive in what she can do when on the move as she can dish all directions, including taking risks to find her middles to keep the opposing defense honest. Look for her to take on the setting role for Ursuline following the graduation of their top setter from last year.

Green is the likely successor to take over the setting role for a solid Ursuline squad as they graduate their current floor leader. She has good tools and competitive experience that should create a seamless move that will increase her opportunities and impact. The primary setter for Elevation ‘s top 15U team, Green is consistent in her pursuit of the ball with good balance, high hand contact, and touch to locate the ball well through all zones. Her ability to dish and block through the 5-1 rotation will be key for her team over the next several months.
