Stidham shouldered a massive load for the Rise VBC 17-1 Flagship team, leading the charge as their primary setter. Playing up as a sophomore with juniors, she stepped into this role with confidence, executing a 5-1 most of the season. During the club season, she developed good chemistry and connections with her teammates, aiding in her ability to run a fast offense. She established her middles early on and continued to get them involved in the offense often. Stidham is technically sound, getting her feet to the ball and putting up a clean, well-located set consistently. As a defender, she excels, anchoring right back.

Stidham has been a major part of the Rise 17 Flagship lineup and will be an imperative player as her team competes in the 17 Freedom division at USAV Nationals. Although Stidham is younger than most of her teammates, she shows tons of maturity on the court, leading her team effectively. Stidham makes smart setting decisions and has a great connection with her attackers.

We were able to see Stidham in action, setting a 5-1 for Rise 17-1 Flagship. She did a good job running the middles, and keeping the offense tempo quick. Her defense was also outstanding.

Stidham, the younger sister of Kate Stidham who is current setter at Central Washington, is following in big sister’s footsteps, taking the reigns as a setter at Crater High School. I guess beautiful setting hands and athletic feet are in the Stidham genes! With a high contact point on the ball, and a quick release, she hides her set location well. She is diligent about getting her hands on everything she can, rarely defaulting to her platform. Setting for Rise 17-1 Flagship this club season, I am eager to see her continued improvement over the next few months.
