About Leilani

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I work hard to improve everyday because it’s a new opportunity to grow. I think IQ is important as well as skill in game time situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very big competitor when it comes to playing. Although, I still strive to be the best teammate I can be in every moment. After each point, I try to just focus on my team so I stay out of my head. I set very high expectations for myself so that I can become the player that I really want to be in my future.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have consistently been on the Principal’a honor roll because of a 4.0 GPA. I was recently accepted into the Scholars Academy for the high school I will be attending in the fall. Clubs I am going to join are Bible Club and National Honors Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a very compassionate person who helps anyone in need as much as I can. I sacrifice personal time to be able to achieve my goals as well as helping people. In the community I work in food kitchens to help feed the homeless.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A year ago, I began dealing with medical issues that were jeopardizing my chances of playing volleyball. Since then, I have been learning about the nutrition that my body needs to fuel my ability to play at the level that I want to. I have had to become more diligent in taking care of myself, which has helped me grow in appreciation.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m exploring the options as of right now.
