Gaffey impressed me this summer when she was standing out through six rotations at the USAV Nationals in Indianapolis. She built on that first strong impression while competing at the Iowa City High tournament early in the 2026 prep season. Again, the Regina freshman was holding it down through six, playing with great confidence and poise, especially for her age. Gaffey is skilled with an all-around game to terminate points from the pin or get the ball up in the back row. The ninth-grader is an excellent athlete that moves well laterally and flashes an impressive vertical leap. She shows potential in throwing up the block as well. Gaffey is a prospect on the rise.

United 14s played above their seed at the USAV Nationals, reaching the gold bracket in the American Division. Throughout the impressive run, Gaffey was getting the job done through six rotations. She played consistently well, limiting mistakes and coming up with impactful plays on a regular basis. Gaffey is an explosive athlete with leaping ability and hang time. Points end when she gets a clean swing. There’s power and precision on the attack. Gaffey’s back-row performance also is super steady. She moves well laterally, flashes sharp reflexes and tracks the ball keenly.
