is a disciplined libero who talks and digs with confidence, Magallanes was a key defensive leader for Santa Margarita. In the fifth set, she went on a five-point serving run that forced a timeout, then returned to the line with the same composure and intensity. Her poise and positive energy anchored the backcourt and set the tone for her team’s defensive success and recorded 10 digs.
Luna’s Voice
“Volleyball isn’t just about perfect playing, it’s about perfect attitudes. Always stay positive, lift your teammates, and the energy you give will always come back stronger.”

, a 2027 libero for Santa Margarita Catholic, has spent her offseason focused on refining one key part of her game: serve receive. With a clear understanding of her role on the court, Luna is determined to build consistency and trust through her passing. “I think it’s the most important skill as a libero, and I’m trying to become very consistent with my passing,” she said.
This season is especially meaningful for Luna as she begins her first year at SMCHS. As a junior transfer, she is eager to contribute to a new team environment filled with driven athletes and strong leadership. “We have been working very hard on the court and in the weight room,” she said. “I’m excited to see how we all play together.”
Beyond her skill and work ethic, Luna brings a valuable layer of diversity. She is bilingual and fluent in Spanish, a language she has spoken since birth. That connection has not only strengthened her relationship with family, but also helped shape who she is as a communicator and teammate. Luna enters Queen’s Court ready to make her mark as a reliable and dynamic presence in the back row.

Hi my name is
Luna Magallanes

CA
from Laguna Hills High School Class of 2027. I am a Libero from Orange County, California. I started playing volleyball when I was about 7 years old because I wanted to be just like my older sister.
I connected with OCVC in 2020 when my first club team fell apart. I was introduced to the club director of OCVC when I was 12 and invited to be on one of their first girl teams. This year, I play at OCVC on the 15-1’s as a libero and I feel so lucky to be a part of this team. This year we have added a coach that played libero in college so now I am getting extra technique work and tips on how to be the best libero I can possibly be. It is really important to have good coaches and directors that support you and I think OCVC displays that concept perfectly. Everyone at this club is so welcoming and supportive and will truly help you become your best.
Apart from volleyball and in honor of being Argentinian, I am working on my goal to receive my Spanish Language equivalency Diploma from Spain in 2027. I have been in the Immersion Program for 10 years already and am planning to be in it through senior year. As a part of my dual English and Spanish immersion studies for proficiency in reading, writing and speaking in both languages, I will finish high school passing those exams!
Back to volleyball, I just came back from the Caribbean Volleyball Championships in Puerto Rico where my team finished 3rd in the Open division. I look forward to finishing in SCVA D1 this year and continuing to improve my volleyball skills.
I would be thrilled if any college coaches would come to our court and check me and my team out while we are at the Salt Lake City Showdown qualifier in April, SCVA Event #4 in April, USAV girls junior National Championship in Vegas in July, Battle of the Bids in Orange County in May, SCVA Championships in June, and any local scrimmages at OCVC, which is located at Open Gym Premier in Ladera Ranch.
My goal is to be a libero on a very special starting roster of a university where I finish my bachelor’s degree debt free after 4 years.
At 5’3”, there may be less opportunities for me to come, but as my coach said, “play tall and give your 100% while you’re on the court”.
I Hope my scrappiness and never-give-up attitude with every play will catch your eye.
Gracias!

Luna Magallanes, 2027: 5’3” Libero for Laguna Hills High School and OCVC Luna, a freshman Libero, is an absolute delight to watch on the court. Her impeccable form shines through in both serve reception and defense, and her unwavering hustle is evident in every move she makes. When she’s not refining her skills indoors, she dedicates her time to beach volleyball and maintains a rigorous fitness routine at LA Fitness, engaging in intense leg and abdominal workouts daily before heading to practices.I’m eagerly anticipating witnessing more of Luna’s standout performances this club season as she steps onto the court for OCVC.
