About Mary-Christine

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I believe that my gameplay style is very strategic. It has been instilled in me to always have understanding on why I do things and to do everything with a purpose on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been told that I have two different personalities. Off the court, I am an introvert. On the court, I am competitive and outgoing. That’s is why people call me Mary-Christine when I’m not on the volleyball court and MC when I am.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have been involved in dance since the age of 3. I am also apart of the yearbook committee.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has helped me grow greatly. It allowed for me to develop the necessary skills (teamwork, leadership, communication) to be apart of a team, but also showed me that I need to have my own identity.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am my own biggest critic. At times this is a blessing and a curse. As I continue to grow, my faith has been a source of comfort and grounding. I am reminded to give myself grace.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am not the type that cares about the size of a school. I am looking for a college with a positive campus environment, a competitive volleyball program, and a Coach that believes in me.

Who says freshman aren’t invited to the party?  It doesn’t matter because MC has pushed open the door and screamed, “The party don’t start til I walk in!”  Her play is proving that her name belongs in the mix of youngsters who can flat out score the rock.  This young lady is extremely explosive and I am not sure if anyone can stop her.  The hitting percentage of .341 shows that not many are up to the task.  With only 57 errors on the year, she will be looking to set some records over the course of her entire high school career.  She just might become the best player to come out of Mansfield high school when it is all said and done.  In the meantime, we will love watching her assassinate everyone in her way on the road to stardom.
