Saydi Walker, junior setter for Mansfield high, is bringing all the energy and intention to the court this season. While she is not new talent to Prep Dig, she continues to impress with her game. Showing off her ability to connect with explosive hitters and consistently deliver an even tempo throughout the game. With a high IQ, Saydi demonstrates aggressive defense and decisiveness when the ball is in her hands. Pushing her teammates to run a quick game and leading her hitters effectively at the net, is setting her apart and clearly making a difference on the court.

Miss Walker earned her Prep Dig Texas watch list designation while competing on the Mansfield varsity roster, which puts her in one of the more competitive 6A districts in the DFW Metroplex. At 5’8″ in the class of 2028, she has height that programs at the next level consistently prioritize at the setter position, and there is significant runway ahead for her game to continue developing. The showcase at Excel Training Center is a chance for college coaches to see how her footwork and tempo hold up in an open evaluation setting against a different caliber of competition. What to look for on July 19th is the consistency of her release point and whether she shows varied tempo or defaults to predictable patterns when the pressure of a scrimmage setting elevates. We can’t wait to see how much she has progressed this club season.

Walker is a setter who plays her high school ball with Mansfield and represented NRG in the last club season. She’s very calm and consistent and keeps her team’s offense well-balanced with her steady play. Walker has great setting hands, which allow her to get the ball anywhere at the net and keep her options open even in out-of-system plays. The setter also contributes in the back row with superior reflexes and remarkable ball control when playing defense.
