Morlan competes with one of my favorite teams to watch this season – CR Surge U15 Jeff. The squad competes hard and plays together. I’ve watched them on multiple occasions throughout the season. The most recent viewing happened in mid-April at the ASICS Show Me National Qualifier in Kansas City. It finished 5-2, the best outcome from the club’s entires. When I was watching, Morlan impressed me with her consistency in the back row. She took charge on defense and hung tough on serve-receive. Morlan is well coached and technically sound, which isn’t surprising considering the club and high school for which she competes. Growth can be expected during the next few years, giving her a good chance of reaching her recognizable potential. Morlan is one to watch moving forward.
