About McKinley
Expert Analysis

I didn’t get a chance to see Mckinley Moser much last season, I saw her during the 15s season and what an evolution in her game the past two years. I was really impressed with her physicality at the net. Whether it was being offensive on her own, blocking, or just using her athleticism to get the ball to her attackers – it was impressive. She positions herself along the net where she is very deceptive where she can feed her middles or shoot it to the outside. This is a fast VCN offense. They found their groove Saturday afternoon into Sunday where they came home with a 17 Open bid.

Another future Gopher will be coming to her future home in McKinley Moser of VCN out of Lincoln, Nebraska. Moser is a setter I would call “crafty”. She is a pure playmaker where she can find a way to feed her middles when she is pulled off the net. She disguises her sets extremely well, leaving the defense off balanced. She is accustomed to playing and training at a high level. She is not going to be the tallest setter at the net, but with her vert, athleticism, and physicality she can take it on her own scoring points on the second contact.

Moser continues to be the coal point of Waverly’s entire operation. The Vikings endured wild momentum swings in its quarterfinal bout against Gretna, but Moser’s steadying presence brought Waverly past the finish line. Her deceptive setting and lightning-fast tempo allowed the No. 4 seed to escape multiple deuce sets and claim the quarterfinal triumph.

Moser has embodied selfless leadership throughout VCNebraska 16 Elite’s 2025 season. She demonstrated her toughness during a tough Triple Crown NIT slate and helped her team secure a coveted spot in the final bracket. This Waverly standout has also grown accustomed to rigorous schedules in Nebraska’s Class B gauntlet on the high school side. Moser has done it all, and her prep journey still has more milestones to come.

Sure, it’s hard to classify Moser as a breakout performer giving her high standing in our Class of 2027 rankings. Despite the wealth of accolades she’s already received, Moser showed us another layer of determination and excellence in Kansas City. The VCNebraska 16 Elite signal-caller went down in the team’s challenge match after tweaking her ankle. Moser promptly got up, toughed it out, and led her team to victory. This grit and leadership can inspire an entire lineup–especially when it comes from your setter.

Moser had no problem stepping into the spotlight with Waverly as a sophomore. In fact, this talented setter was surrounded by many fellow 2027s who will be competing for Class B titles before long. Moser hauled in an Open bid with VCNebraska 15 Elite during the spring and will remain an impact player with her club.
