Easily one of the sneakiest pickups from last club season to this (Monon Select, previously), Meredith is the glue for an exceptionally strong 2s team at Circle. As an undersized overachiever, Meredith hits a heavy ball and has active feet in each and every transitional play from 0-0 to the last point of the match. Capable of playing either pin with confidence and strength, Miss Mears will fit in nicely with a program looking for yet another well-rounded pin attacker that can do a bit of everything on the volleyball court.

Explosive and intense, Meredith is a ball of fire pretending to be a pin attacker. Every swing, every transition attempt and every point is 100% full go with no quit in sight. Because of her size, she might be relegated to only the left side at the next level, but her ability to terminate at will from both pins with her whip of an arm will carry her far in her recruiting journey. I’d like to see how she does in six-rotation play this fall in the toughest volleyball conference and sectional in the state, so here’s to hoping her development continues at Westfield.

It was different seeing Miss Mears play at first. Or should I say, HEAR her play. Over and over again, the sound of her hand taking a full swing on the ball made a different sound than others in the same pin position, even from a court or two over. My fellow scouts and I saw this regularly with Meredith—a full-go, full swing, go-for-broke pin attacker that had little regard of defense or situation. She scored points at will throughout the day, and took chances just as pin attackers should. I don’t even recall her sending a free ball all day without putting a swing on it.

Meredith, making the transfer from Monon Select to Circle City this coming spring, is a high-flying hammer with a whip for an arm. She listed her position as right side for our showcase yesterday, but was able to consistently score points from both pins. Her jumping ability, speed on transition and whip through the attacking zone scored so much for her side of the court that I lost count. If you’re looking for a relentless athlete from either pin for the class of ’28, you’ll find Meredith on Circle’s 16-2 next spring.
