I’ve had multiple run-ins with Harris and KC Power 16-1 this year. This group excelled in enemy territory while competing at Premier Nebraska this January. The gauntlet continued at Triple Crown NIT, among many other big venues. Harris has been a standout the whole way and is among the most well-rounded setters in Kansas’s 2028 class. She doesn’t shy away from taking risks and forcing her middles while off the net. Two-hitter rotations offer an opportunity for Harris to wield her imposing block and deceptive dump shots. The Heart of America Region has already racked up Open triumphs on the USAV map, and KC Power 16-1 could be the next in line.

Harris brings everything you’d want from a setter leading a 5-1 offense. She has quick feet out of the back row, allowing her to operate Power ‘]’s up-tempo transition offense. Then, Harris rotates into the front row and provides an imposing block against opposing left-side hitters. Her full repertoire reached the spotlight in Gretna, including Harris’s willingness to join the attacking phase on second contacts. The Kansas City area is loading up on setter talent, but that’s nothing new.

Aliyah’s sister Nyah shares setting duties for the Jags with highly ranked junior Sasha Cromer Sasha Cromer 5'11" | S/RS Blue Valley West | 2027 State #127 Nation KS . She led the team in assists with 536 in 87 sets played. She can also play solid defense as she finished fourth on the team in digs with 193. She is tall for a setter, which I like, but she also has plenty of versatility in her game, which college coaches like. The big question between the sisters is which one will be ranked higher this time around? As Nyah was ranked No. 25 and Aliyah was ranked No. 26 overall in the last round of rankings.

Harris was named an honorable mention athlete on the KVA Class 6A All-State team. She tallied 536 assists in 87 sets played for the Class 6A State Champion Jaguars. I first saw her and her twin sister playing club ball as eighth graders. Blue Valley West has a truckload of talent and will be a favorite to defend its state title next year. Harris is ranked No. 25 overall in the class of 2028.

The Power features a talented set of twins on their roster. I saw them play last season for the Power, and the two of them have only improved their game during that gap. Harris was all over the court and can play six rotations. She finished with a team-high nine kills in the win. Teams can not overpass against her, as she will make them pay. She also can adjust to out-of-system balls and find holes with a tip.
