We’ve documented Lincoln Southwest’s big lineup transition after winning the 2023 Class A championship. One of the biggest changes involved bringing Eckman into the mix to set the offense, and she was up to the challenge all year. She racked up over 800 assists during the regular season while piloting the Silver Hawks to a 23-8 record. Eckman’s connections with her hitters flourished, even as LSW brought in a lot of new faces at the attacking positions.

Last year’s championship-winning Lincoln Southwest squad was predicated on fast, precise offense. That theme holds in 2024, but there’s a new setter leading the charge. Eckman soared up our 2026 rankings after her successful club season with VCNebraska , and her positive momentum hasn’t slowed since then. She is leading a 5-1 offense at LSW and shows a brilliant knack for pushing a quick pace to the outside. Eckman also plays lockdown defense in the right-back area and is second on the Silver Hawk roster in total digs. The setter pipeline continues at Southwest.

This high-profile move has panned out, especially with 17 Elite earning its elusive Open bid via the Salt Lake City Showdown. Eckman has never been daunted by elite competition and has made major strides since we saw her at our showcase. GJNC is another one of those important pressure tests.

New team, new heights. We entered 2024 with fond memories of Eckman piloting last year’s VCNebraska 15 Elite squad. The dynamic shifted dramatically as Eckman was called up to VCNebraska ‘s top 17s squad to help run the team’s high-powered offense. This Lincoln Southwest prep star made a major early-season impression and continued to find her groove against older competitors. Playing up an age group was a head-turning move for Eckman, but it has paid off in the biggest way. 17 Elite finally clinched its Open bid through the Salt Lake City Showdown and can look forward to the GJNC journey ahead.
