New to the Arizona volleyball scene, Senalah Sagiao Senalah Sagiao 5'10" | S/RS Xavier College Prep | 2030 AZ first caught our attention at the Prep Dig Showcase, and it was pretty clear that was only the beginning of what we would see from her. She has carried that momentum right into school season and is already making an impact at Xavier as a setter, putting together an impressive start to her high school career.

Sagiao is quick on her feet and does a great job getting herself in position to deliver a hittable ball, even when the first contact pulls her off the net. One of the things that has stood out most is her ability to consistently push a great ball to the outside from different areas of the court. Her technique is polished for such a young setter, and she plays with the composure and consistency you love to see at the position. As she continues to develop her connection with her hitters and gain experience at the varsity level, there is a ton of upside to her game.

We’re excited to have Sagiao competing here in Arizona and even more excited that we’ll get the opportunity to follow her growth over the next four years. She’s already making her presence known, and this is a 2030 setter we’ll be keeping a close eye on.

A new setter to the state of AZ! Senalah is going to be a star here in AZ. She has good hands, is a threat on offense, and can play next level defense. She has the capability to run a 5-1 and be a front row setter as she can put up a good block as well and isn’t afraid to take a rip at the ball or dump it if needed. She has all the other factors we look for in our setters along with their hands and ability to run an offense. On top of that she has a great serve that really was giving passers troubles when she got to show it off.

As for her setting, she has a very high IQ when it comes to running an offense on top of being able to make every set that is needed to be successful. She has great footwork and is quick enough to get her hands on almost every ball, which results in her placing the ball on a plate for her hitters to terminate the ball. She is next level with her ability to place a ball right where the hitter needs and can do it from in system and out of system. Her hands might be the best in the class, and that is saying a lot with who is in this class. Overall it was great to see her play live, and she is going to make some big time noise in AZ this season, and was an easy pick as a top performer.

Senalah Sagaio’s hands immediately caught my attention. She pushes the ball with strength and purpose, consistently delivering it to the location her hitters need to stay in rhythm. Her footwork allows her to establish early positioning, and she plays with a calm confidence that settles the offense around her. She communicates naturally, leads her court without unnecessary emotion, and knows exactly when to become an offensive threat herself. Her setter dumps are well-timed, forcing blockers to respect every touch and creating more opportunities for the hitters around her.
