Gillund had a solid performance at the Stock Up Showcase. She did a really nice job tracking down balls all over the court and showed good range with her out of system sets. I was impressed with how well she moved to the ball on tight passes, turning her body to avoid the net. She has great hands and gets her feet to the ball quickly to deliver clean sets. She showed good athleticism and a nice ability to turn plays into impressive ones.

Gillund is a really skilled setter who just has a calm, steady presence running the offense. I’ve watched her quite a bit, both with Minneota on the high school side and with SWMNVB in the spring, and she’s consistently reliable. She puts up a clean, hittable ball, keeps a nice tempo to the offense, and does a great job of getting her hitters all involved and contributing to the offense. In transition, she stays composed and does a nice job finding her middles when off the net, which keeps the offense highly effective and hard to defend. It’s no surprise that her teams have been highly successful with her running the court.
