About Stella

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe myself as a very vocal and competitive player on the court. Aggressive all around with my defensive play, serve receive, coverage and strong serving. At the 2024 UA Next MS Camp, I was named one of the MVPs as well as being named a defensive specialist top performer at the PrepDig Freshman showcase. This club season I will be playing for Munciana 15 Open Blue.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring the energy on the court! I am a strong communicator with a high volleyball IQ. I lead my team on and off of the court with my positive attitude. I am always encouraging to my teammates and have a good relationship with my coaches as well. Lead by example and practice how I want to play always. I strive to improve my game each and every day. Always giving 100%.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

-Church Youth leader -HS youth group -Munciana volleyball -strength training -Champions 101: Leadership Training Completed (2024) -Volunteer with Arabian Jrs. Volleyball

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a strong sense of leadership playing volleyball. This freshman HS season I played both Varsity (DS) and JV (DS/OH) as well as being named a team captain. I have played club the past 5 years for Munciana. I enjoy helping others at school, home and at church. I also help volunteer my time with youth volleyball when I can.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will allow me to pursue my future educational goals while playing the game I love!

What is the #1 non-negotiable quality of all defensive specialists? I believe most would argue that it is ENERGY – the winning combo of talk, hustle and skill. Stella brought energy to every court she played on because of her constant communication and encouragement of others. It didn’t matter if she was in the drill or waiting in line; she was going to make sure everyone was engaged and ready. She was the energy leader on every court she was on and NEVER (I mean not once) took a play off for the entire two hours. Short knew where to be on defense, and she hustled to every single ball. This girl even shagged balls without being asked! Players like Stella who are this hungry and dialed in are definitely going places.
