About Sydney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am very dominant on the court and I’m always eager to get the ball. I have a great connection with my setter and I have a powerful swing. I am able to hit into deep corners or very sharp angles, making my way around tough blocks. My blocks are firm, and I am actively working to keep putting pressure on my opponents defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very observant and always ready to hype up my team in an effective and constructive way that benefits everyone. I love my girls and the bond we share is unbreakable. I had struggles in the past with confidence, but I am working to regulate my emotions on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in women in leadership, government policies, and speech

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have grown in many ways. I learnt to regulate emotions on the court, and keep my teammates spirits up. I would consider myself a leader on my team, and I am ready to face criticism from any coach. I am also apart of an infant welfare community service project run by my grandma, which has taught me a lot.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have had a coach who constantly told me I was the worst on the team, and made fun of me. I used to let it get to me but now I am ready to push through anything.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college where I can feel like I am apart of a community. I want to have a good relationship with my teammates, and be able to focus on my studies as well as being an athlete.
