Violet Dougherty Violet Dougherty 5'10" | OH/RS Juanita | 2028 State WA , a Class of 2028 outside hitter from Juanita High School in Kirkland and Spaceneedle Volleyball Foundation , currently ranked No. 46 overall in the Prep Dig Washington State Rankings, is exactly the kind of pin hitter that makes defensive coordinators rethink their coverage the moment she steps onto the court. At 5’10” she carries a heavy arm swing and the ability to terminate a point from either pin, which is a skill set that immediately separates her from players who are dangerous only in their primary role. She reads the block intelligently and adjusts her shot in real time rather than committing to one angle early, which tells you the volleyball IQ running behind that physical ability is genuinely advanced for her class. Her footwork in transition is clean and she consistently arrives at the ball in a strong hitting position rather than improvising on the fly, which is where a lot of young attackers lose efficiency. There is a competitive confidence to how she plays that shows up in the moments that matter most, because she does not shy away from the ball when the game is tight. Violet is a ranked prospect in her class with the tools and the mentality to climb considerably before her graduation year arrives. Dougherty is a strong athlete. She showcased her athleticism and powerful arm throughout the session as she approaches with good momentum build and an aggressive swing upon contact. Dougherty has a live arm- she gets on top of the ball and buries it for kills that eat up defenders. She was an efficient scorer from both pins for Spaceneedle 16 Blitz, and the team captured a bid to Nationals in the USA Division. Dougherty will take her power game into the school season at Juanita for her sophomore year.

Dougherty can terminate a point from either pin; she has a heavy arm swing and can bury a ball in the back corner. The Juanita High School prospect has outstanding vision and feel for the block; she can split a gap, turn a ball line, or hammer it off the hands of a late close from the opposing middle.
