Shepherd is a very consistent and scrappy libero/DS. For Cabot this season, she did a great job at reading the opposing attackers hand and putting herself in the right position. She consistently keeps her team in system out of serve receive and picks up the hard driven line shots from the right side very well. Her out of system sets are also pretty impressive.

Whitney Shepherd Whitney Shepherd 5'4" | DS/L Cabot Freshman Academy | 2028 AR is a libero who plays with confidence, leadership, and consistency. She moves with purpose and takes control in the backcourt, guiding her teammates and staying locked in on every play. Whitney is a strong passer both in serve receive and on defense, keeping the ball off the floor and setting up her team for success. Her steady presence and skill make her a key leader and a dependable anchor in every match.

Shepherds quick reaction time has given her the ability to pick up any hard driven attack or roll shot. She has a very high volleyball IQ that also allows her to set herself up in the area the attackers are swinging. She reads the dropped elbow really well to pick up tips and roll shots. Shepherd is also very consistent in serve receive and will be one of the most error free liberos at the qualifier.

Whitney is steady force on the Elite Volleyball 15 Elite team. Her club team received 5th place in the Gold Bracket at Battle to Bartle NIT and competed in the Gold Bracket at the Music City Qualifier, finishing 10th place out of 128 teams. She competes at Cabot Freshman Academy, the program that won the conference championship in 2024. Whitney is an avid Prep Dig player who competed in the Freshman Showcase Tournament with Prep Dig Texas in 2024. Whitney is a multi-faceted player who also plays sand volleyball. She competed last year in several beach tournaments, getting a 1st place finish in the 16U division and earning a big to nationals. She is volleyball savvy and dominates with a high-level volleyball IQ. She is constantly moving, scanning, reading, and analyzing as a strong libero. She is the glue on her team and can make a perfect pass out of anything thrown at her. Her technical mechanics and ball control make her a steady yet strong force on her team.
