Alli Bornschlegl Alli Bornschlegl 5'11" | OH NE is one of those outside hitters that consistently pulls your attention because of how complete her game is becoming. She’s a reliable option in serve receive, controlling first contact and giving her team the ability to stay in system. From there, she transitions quickly and is always available, which makes her a consistent offensive presence.
What stands out most is her scoring range. Alli isn’t limited to one swing—she’s mixing cross, line, and off-speed effectively, and beginning to tool the block when needed. She reads the defense, adjusts mid-swing, and finds ways to produce in both in-system and out-of-system situations. In high-level matches, that adaptability and control is what keeps her impactful. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Junior outside hitter Alli Bornschlegl has stepped into a starring role for Norris this season and thrived. After the graduation of several key players from last year’s state title team, Bornschlegl has elevated her game across every statistical category and become a major reason Norris opened the year with 30 straight wins.
She’s super quick and explosive off the floor, perfectly suited for Norris’ fast-paced offense. Alli consistently finds ways to score in rhythm. Just as importantly, Bornschlegl does the dirty work in the back row, passing, digging, and keeping rallies alive.

We’ll lump Norris into the greater Lincoln metro, especially given Bornschlegl’s dominant start with the Titans. The defending champions are off to an 8-0 start with Bornschlegl terminating five times per set on a shocking 0.503 clip. Norris has increasingly wielded Bornschlegl in a six-rotation capacity, as evidenced by her dig total that ranks second on the team. Of course, Bornschlegl has also established herself as an attacking threat behind the three-meter line, too. It’s all coming together for another Class B title push.

Bornschlegl’s development has accelerated as she gains a wealth of experience on big stages. She provided crucial kills during Norris’s long-awaited breakthrough to the Class B title. This dynamic pin hitter is also a staple in the VCNebraska gym, especially as Bornschlegl continues to hone her backcourt skills. She has grown into a true six-rotation threat who can do far more than carry an offense, and Norris will likely lean on these skills this fall.

Bornschlegl seemed to have something extra on her swings during the postseason. Perhaps it’s a sign of this sophomore pin hitter rising to the occasion, but Bornschlegl has also exhibited steady improvement throughout her tenure with Norris. She delivered 15 kills on a 0.282 clip as the Titans ended Omaha Skutt Catholic’s Class B title streak in the Devaney Center. After injuries shook up the 2024 lineup, players like Bornschlegl stepped up when it was needed most.

Bornschlegl embodies what has made VCNebraska 15 Elite so dominant. This Norris prep star brings plenty of heat on the left pin but can also pitch in as a backcourt defender. Diving saves have become a prominent feature of 15 Elite’s highlight tapes, and Bornschlegl is frequently the catalyst for those eye-popping plays. Her selflessness along the end line propelled VCNebraska to a 15 Open bid at MEQ. That mindset will be resurrected as Bornschlegl and 15 Elite compete for a title.

Bornschlegl earned some playing time with last fall’s Norris team, which notched another runner-up finish in Class B. That’s quite an accomplishment, but Bornschlegl has been aiming even higher in 2024. She’s a dynamic pin attacker who also carries significant serve receive responsibilities for VCNebraska 15 Elite. This kind of multi-faceted effort was key to 15 Elite’s bid-earning triumph at MEQ. Bornschlegl stayed on her hot streak at the Show Me Qualifier and is dialed in for this summer’s finale.
