Continue ReadingThe MAPL, or M-apple, runs the same weekend as the National Harbor Tournament. Metro normally dominates this tournament but they only have one travel team competing in the 16-18 division this year. Two teams are competing in the 14-16 age group. Their other teams are competing at out of state qualifiers.
Below are the top prospects competing in the 16-18 age division that have not yet made a college commitment based on the information I have.
Club 540
Alexis Scipione Alexis Scipione 5'9" | S Colgan | 2023 State VA (setter/18 Elite) – She was previewed as a top prospect in the Volley by the James and led her team to a second place finish. Alexis shared the setting duties with Niya Nash Niya Nash 5'8" | S Forest Park | 2023 State VA , who has committed to Virginia Wesleyan. When Alexis played for Colgan she set a 5/1, getting the Sharks to the finals both years and winning the championship two years ago. She sets for teams that eventually stand on the winner’s podium.
Carley P Coghill Carley P Coghill 5'10" | MB Massaponax | 2024 State VA (MB/17 Elite) – A 5’10 middle with a vicious serve. Played for Massaponax in the State championship. Athletic and quick. Really liked her attitude on the court.
Peri Linterman (middle/17 Elite) – at 6’2 she has length. Hits the quicks well. Impressed with her play at Volley by the James.
Others to watch: Millani Marte (DS/Libero/18 elite) and Allison Lach (outside/17 elite)
Beach Elite
Highlights
Teagan Engdahl Teagan Engdahl 5'11" | OH Catholic | 2023 State VA (outside/18 B) – Most of the players on Beach Elite have committed. Teagan is a 5’11” outside who played six rotations for Catholic High. A versatile player who can play left or right side. She can also provide a team offense from the back row.
Peyton McGee Peyton McGee 5'10" | S Norfolk Academy | 2025 State VA (right side/17 B) – Peyton ranks number 10 in our class of 2025, but she will play up for Beach Elite. For Norfolk Academy she played right side. A very explosive player in the front row. At 5’9″ her length may be short for a right side but her swing carries lots of velocity.
Megan Stone Megan Stone 5'8" | DS/L Kellam | 2024 State VA (libero/DS/17 B) – A 5’8″ defensive specialist/libero who brings a good serve to the floor. Good hustle and quickness to play libero.
Others to watch: Avery Hanly Avery Hanly 5'11" | OH Kellam | 2024 State VA (outside) and Martha Boser Martha Boser 5'6" | S Catholic | 2024 State VA (setter) both play for 17 B.

Highlights
Greta Barvick Greta Barvick 5'10" | S Chelsea Academy | 2024 State VA (setter/17 Blue) – She can hit left or right side with authority, playing all six rotations. Her hands are also capable of setting and staying in the front row to hit right side. At 5’9″ her height may fall just short of being ideal as a hitter but the offense she strings to the court is real.
Berkeley Konrady Berkeley Konrady 6'1" | OH Millbrook | 2025 State VA (OH/17 Blue) – A 6’0′ left side from the class of 2025 who plays six rotations deserves attention. Definitely an offensive presence whether she plays front row or back row. Her number 68 ranking will climb after club season finishes.
Ada McCoy Ada McCoy 5'11" | OH Musselman (WVA) | 2025 State VA (left side/16 Blue) – A 5’11” left side who plays all six rotations. She ranks number 8 in our class of 2025. She led powerhouse Musselman High to the West Virginia State championship.
Ava Dickerson (middle/16 Blue) – A 5’11” middle who missed our rankings for 2025. If given an opportunity she could probably hit outside, but the Blue Ridge team has two of the best outsides in the area. Her middle play and ability to put the ball down requires respect.
Others to watch – Kennedy Spaid Kennedy Spaid 5'11" | OH James Wood | 2026 State VA (left side) and Brenna Corbin Brenna Corbin 5'5" | DS/L James Wood | 2026 State VA (libero) play up on the 16 Blue team but fall in the class of 2026.
