Prior to that, the most likely response to a student athlete email is the “thanks for reaching out, fill out this questionnaire”. Recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint, and colleges are signing 2024’s as athletes complete visits, along with the early 2025 commits that have had a chance to give an early verbal. here are some of the latest Washington standouts to make a pledge, of course nothing is final till the Letter of Intent is signed! However, verbal commitments in volleyball nearly always result in the prospect signing with the school, a stark difference from a verbal commitment in some other sports.
The powerful left hander recently committed to Fordham, located in the Bronx, NY. The Rams compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference against the likes of Dayton, George Mason and the St. Louis Billikens. Woodruff has a tremendous season attacking from the right side, providing Dakine 17 Surf with a big block as well.
The high riser from Freeman continues a run of players from the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area to find their way to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. An outside with a huge vertical, 2025 Reed can pound the ball to the angle and down the line, and shut down opposing attackers with her spring and great press over the net.
The word was out that Andrew was working towards a commitment with the Cardinal, one of the premier academic and volleyball schools in the nation. Stanford was able to secure on of the best middles in the country with the 6’5″ standout, Andrew is continuing to train in the USA National Team gym with an eye on upcoming international competition.
Marrs was a recent part of the Evergreen Region USA All-Star team that competed in Florida. Oregon State has an early verbal commitment from the long and talented 2025 middle from Ellensburg. The Beavers secured the dominant blocker. who will be headed to Corvallis after graduation in 2025. Marrs continues to refine her game and showed the ability to win 50/50 balls at the net in Ft. Lauderdale.
Highlights
Ridgeline High School in Liberty Lake, just outside of Spokane is where the gritty libero will suit up this fall. Hickman had an outstanding season as the only libero on her CPA Drew 17 team, all those reps paid off with a recent commitment to Seattle Pacific University. We love to see Washington players in the GNAC, Hickman will have plenty of chances to compete with and against in state players.
Highlights
Grieser can wind up and deliver lightning bolt from the right side, and she knows how to have fun while doing it. . The lefty has continued to get better and better, and its paid off with a commitment to suit up for the Wichita State Shockers. NPJ Seattle 17 featured a large number of outstanding attackers, Grieser has the whippy arm swing you just don’t see all the time.

Big Sky VBC has had “big” success sending athletes to the next level, Lundgren will follow 2024 Alyss Kelly Alyss Kelly 5'5" | DS/L Lake Stevens | 2024 State #159 Nation WA from WVBA to Manhattan, Kansas to compete in the Big 12 for the Wildcats. Lundgren has excellent movement and covers swaths of ground when she makes a big move to the pin as a blocker. The Montana standout will play defense in the back row and isn’t afraid to play the second ball when it’s needed, just a bonus when you can terminate with authority.
Wright is a fearless setter and the rising junior from Tahoma High School has serious chops as an attacker too. Ultimately we see her setting at the next level, she has made a verbal commitment to the University of Montana. The Griz are getting a winner and a team captain, Big Sky volleyball just got better!
