Those traits can certainly help, however, great players can be found across the state with different heights, arm swings and ways to get the job done. Here are several pin attackers that are new to the 2026 rankings update.
Aaron is the sweet swinging left-hander that every coach hopes for on the right side, and the sophomore from University High in Spokane Valley had an excellent club season with CPA 15 Benson. Aaron earned a spot on the All-Tournament team at the Emerald City Classic and developed different swings and shots she could terminate with during the season. She was a starter as a freshman for U-Hi last season and should be a top option for the Titans in her second year of varsity competition.
The versatile pin hitter from Lynden High School has added an accurate tip she drops over the top of the block, and she is part of a Lynden team that should make a strong run to the state tournament this season. Stephan may play in all three spots across the front line, she has the height and skill to play the middle or either pin position, and her attacking is particularly effective from the right side.
Highlights
Hughbanks was a significant part of the Chelan state title run last season as a freshman, and she continues to excel on the beach and indoors. At 5’9 with terrific athleticism, she has all the shots and defensive skills you expect to see from an elite sand player, and she can crank up the heat to terminate points. Chelan will be pushing for a fourth title in a row, Hughbanks will be counted on to be a difference maker for the Mountain Goats.
Luinstra is another pin player from Central Washington, the sophomore will be one of several explosive options the Wenatchee Panthers will turn to this season. She is long at 5 foot 10 and has solid experience playing with the Evergreen Region All-Star 15U team this season in Florida and posted a terrific summer tournament season with the Panthers. Luinstra does not have to be the #1 option for Wenatchee and has a tremendous group of players to learn from around her.
Lee is a six-rotation outside with good size at 6 foot, and a heavy arm swing. She showed good skills in the back row for Sudden Impact and became a factor scoring from the pipe throughout the season. She will be a large part of the offensive attack for Liberty High School in Renton this fall, and she showed the ability to take a large volume of swings and score efficiently in the club season. Lee faced excellent competition with SIVBC and should be set to handle a prominent role for Liberty.
Chambers is an aggressive outside hitter, she can crank it up swinging deep corner or down the line. She focuses on her transition footwork, getting off the net with urgency and flying in to attack the ball with great energy. Snohomish finished first in the Wesco during Chamber’s freshman season, and have another solid group of players coming back this fall. The WVBA trained prospect has solid all-around skills and should play all the way around for the Panthers.
