Laila Chadwick Laila Chadwick 5'8" | DS/L James Madison | 2027 State VA (James Madison) – The 5’8″ Laila Chadwick Laila Chadwick 5'8" | DS/L James Madison | 2027 State VA started at libero for her Metro 15 club team. The previous year she won the MVP award at the Capital Hill Classic as an outside hitter. As suspected she stands out as the main outside hitter for the Warhawks, creating offense in both the front and back row. The offense Laila generates has powered Madison to a quick 4-0 record to begin their season. Laila ranks number 4 in our class of 2027.

Kieran Rhoton Kieran Rhoton 6'0" | RS Independence | 2027 State VA (Independence) – The number five ranked player in the class of 2027 has powered Independence to a 5-2 start to their season. Their only losses are to Woodson and Dominion. Kieran leads the team in kills with an impressive .316 hitting percentage (per Maxpreps). She also leads the team in blocks. She primarily plays right side.
Aaliyah Green Aaliyah Green 5'10" | OH Millbrook | 2027 State VA , Katherine Madden Katherine Madden 5'4" | DS/L Millbrook | 2027 State VA and Paisley Cook Paisley Cook 5'5" | S Millbrook | 2027 State VA (Millbrook) – Some would classify this season as a rebuilding one, with three frosh playing significant roles on the roster. Aaliyah Green Aaliyah Green 5'10" | OH Millbrook | 2027 State VA hits outside, Katherine Green fills the libero spot and Paisley Cook Paisley Cook 5'5" | S Millbrook | 2027 State VA takes one of the two setting roles. The trio of frosh provide significant contributions to the Pioneers 3-0 start. Green (8) and Maddon (17) sit in the top twenty of our 2027 rankings.

Hunter Ross Hunter Ross 6'1" | MB Flint Hill | 2027 State VA and Alli Robinson Alli Robinson 6'1" | MB Flint Hill | 2027 State VA (Flint Hill) – The Huskies have won six straight VISAA state championships. While going for number seven it appears they will rely on two frosh to contribute. Hunter Ross Hunter Ross 6'1" | MB Flint Hill | 2027 State VA will plug up one of the middles and Alli Robinson Alli Robinson 6'1" | MB Flint Hill | 2027 State VA will fill one of the right side holes. The two made significant contributions for the Huskies as they won the bronze medal bracket in the Platinum Division against some of the best high school teams in the country at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Both played for Metro 14 last year. Hunter ranks nine while Alli ranks 21 in our class of 2027.

Caycee Chhum Caycee Chhum 5'7" | S Georgetown Day | 2027 State VA and Erin Green Erin Green 5'11" | RS Chantilly | 2027 State VA (Chantilly) – For the most part this team rides on Lameem Mambu for their wins. Her ability to generate an offense relies on a setter to give her an opportunity to create those kills. Caycee Chhum Caycee Chhum 5'7" | S Georgetown Day | 2027 State VA fills that role for the Chargers this year. She leads the team in assists with the Chargers racing out to a 4-0 start. Erin Green Erin Green 5'11" | RS Chantilly | 2027 State VA stands out for her seven blocks as an outside, which sits tied for the team lead. Caycee ranks number 10 on our 2027 ranking while Green did not appear.
Blake Crawford Blake Crawford 5'7" | OH Atlee | 2027 State VA (Atlee) – The Atlee Raiders jumped out to a 3-1 start led by the lefthanded arm of Blake Crawford Blake Crawford 5'7" | OH Atlee | 2027 State VA . She plays left side and creates offense from both the back and front row. Normally, you would have your lefthander hit right side, but Blake contributes so much to the court the Raiders want her playing all six rotations. She sits at 28 kills after the Raiders first four games.
Zora Dimbo Zora Dimbo 5'10" | OH Georgetown Day | 2027 State VA (Georgetown Day) – The Hoppers won their opener and the 5’10” Zora Dimbo Zora Dimbo 5'10" | OH Georgetown Day | 2027 State VA stands out as a critical piece of the offense, contributing kills from the left side. She blasted kills through and over the taller Bishop O’Connell blocks in a scrimmage last week. They won their opener against Model Secondary School for the Deaf. Their next game is scheduled for 9/12 against Flint Hill. That could define their season. Zora ranks number 29 in the class of 2027.

Saesha Dhote and Ana Djordjevic Ana Djordjevic 5'7" | DS/L Richard Montgomery | 2027 State MD (Richard Montgomery) – The Rockets soared to a 2-0 start. Saesha Dhote has stepped in to contribute on offense as well as back row play. Ana Djordjevic Ana Djordjevic 5'7" | DS/L Richard Montgomery | 2027 State MD has contributed to the back row play with her defense and serve receive. She tied for second with her sister Ema in digs and ranked third in receptions.

Nike Tournament of Champion Results
It was a tough tournament for the three Virginia schools. Flint Hill, which lost only one match the last two years lost two matches in the first round of pool play. They recovered the next day to earn the bronze bracket in the National Pool, winning their last three matches to go 4-2 for the tournament. The National Pool had some of the top high schools in the country competing. Isabelle Bardin Isabelle Bardin 6'3" | S Flint Hill | 2025 State #121 Nation VA , who broke her thumb after the Junior Nationals finished returned to setting, shaking off the rust to lead the Huskies.
Bishop O’Connell had a rough tournament going 1-5 while playing in the Premier Division. The five losses in the two day tournament equaled the number of losses they have accumulated the last two years. Of their 11 set losses, five of them were by two points. Their biggest loss was to Virginia Academy in the semi-final of the bronze bracket. After winning the first set 25-13, they hit in the negative in the next two sets to take the loss.
Virginia Academy finished 3-3. They have to be happy with their effort, especially the victory over Bishop O’Connell, a team they had not beaten since it opened in 1997. Frosh Louise Neuhart Louise Neuhart 6'0" | OH Virginia Academy | 2027 State VA contributed to the victory with her offense. She leads the team in kills.
The overall winner of the tournament in the Platinum Division was Cornerstone Christian, who defeated Carrollwood Day in two. The two big hitters for Cornerstone were left side Megan Fitch and right side Grace Carroll. Both were firing sling shots over the net with their powerful hits. Megan rolled from the left side and Grace from the right. The 6’1″ Megan will play for Texas A&M while the 6’5″ Grace will shine for Baylor. Grace ranks number 10 in our class of 2024 national ranking while Megan ranks number 40 in our class of 2025 national ranking. Megan earned the MVP honors for the tournament.
