Our updated Nebraska Class of 2025 rankings offer a testament to the quality of the state’s junior class. It’s also proof that it’s never too late to elevate your game, and the players below have done plenty of that lately.
On to Part 2.
Feeney remains the steady driving force for a consistent Adams Central program. Her savvy distribution has guided the Patriots to another winning season, and it’s not hard to tell that Feeney has experience in some of Nebraska’s biggest events. We’ll see if another postseason appearance is in the works this fall.
Highlights
Emery’s emergence has been a major factor in what has become a breakout season for Bellevue West. The junior setter is dishing out over nine assists per set and is spreading the ball around with incredible accuracy. The Thunderbirds are suddenly a top-tier force in Class A.
Liebsack is a valuable contributor in a very balanced, successful Bennington offense. She can thrive on either pin, giving the Badgers even more frontcourt flexibility. Regardless of position, Liebsack can crank out the clutch kills needed to push Bennington ahead toward a postseason bid.
Highlights
It’s hard to put a single label on Carlstrom’s role with High Plains Community. She’s just a great all-around player. Carlstrom spent most of her underclassman years playing setter for the Storm, and she had no problem racking up impressive numbers at that position. Now, as a junior, Carlstrom is embracing more of a full-time attacking role and has tallied three kills per set in 2023. The move is paying off.
Highlights
Gretna East is bringing its share of stars to the forefront. Williams is quickly surging up the 2025 leaderboards following standout performances with Banzai and the Griffins. Her command of the backcourt never wavers, even when facing some of Class B’s biggest powerhouses.
Highlights
Diller-Odell needed some frontcourt attackers to step up this year, and Vilda has gone above and beyond that threshold in 2023. She’s putting down a whopping 4.2 kills per set so far this year–almost double her output from 2022. That kind of leadership will keep the Griffins in the small-town conversation moving forward.
Henn brings Elgin Public/Pope John back into the 2025 conversation. She’s been a standout in prior iterations of the Prep Dig Showcase series, and now she’s accumulating a career-best kill clip with the Wolfpack.
Morgan has had no problem putting up colossal dig totals for Wood River throughout her career. It all started when she was a freshman, and Morgan has taken off from there. She’s already tallied over 1,000 career digs midway through her junior campaign, so we’ll see how high Morgan’s tally can go.
Kiichler has clearly found a new gear in 2023. She showed flashes of potential as a sophomore, but now she is a true leader for Norfolk with almost three-and-a-half kills per set on her ledger. The Panthers are also not afraid to run Kiichler across the back row, where she adds over two digs per set for good measure. Class A gems are everywhere.
We’re spreading the wealth with Bellevue West athletes. Anderson showed her serious potential with ENVY during the club season, and that’s translating to a stout junior campaign with the Thunderbirds. Her production has escalated to nearly two kills per set from the middle with more room to grow in late-season matches.
Highlights
Freel is a rare case of a Nebraska prep athlete who hops over to Iowa for club competition. Her progress in the Cornhusker State with Plattsmouth has warranted her latest climb in the 2025 rankings. She has eclipsed a 0.200 hitting percentage for the Blue Devils this year and is taking on greater attacking volume as an upperclassman.
Highlights
Cotter’s high-volume scoring with Raymond Central has been a multi-year affair. She’s regularly been putting up well over three kills per set during her prep tenure with the Mustangs, particularly since the start of the 2022 season. Cotter is also a true six-rotation outside hitter whose passing and defense are an extension of her incredible value.
Sliva is helping maintain the championship standard that BDS is known for. Few juniors in the small-town scene boast such a quick arm on the right pin. The junior opposite has a wide hitting window, meaning she finds ways to score regardless of set location. Perhaps we’ll see Sliva’s dominant attacking back in Lincoln this November.
Highlights
Fry is establishing herself as one of Millard North’s top scoring outlets on the left side. After waiting for her opportunity in the starting lineup, Fry has seized the moment with a triple-digit kill total with more than two-and-a-half terminations per set. This is one of 2023’s biggest breakout prep performers in the Omaha metro.
Denker is one of those setter-hitters who can find any way possible to make a splash. Fremont’s two-setter system is perfectly suited to Denker’s wide repertoire, as the junior is putting down over a kill per set in addition to running the offense from the backcourt.
This isn’t the first time we’ve mentioned Holdrege in recent features, and Vaughn gets the Dusters back on the board. Vaughn brings everything you’d want from a setter who’s playing all the way around the dial. She’s strong and aggressive at the net, compiling her share of kills in two-hitter rotations. When’s she not giving defense fits with her dump attacks, Vaughn is spreading the ball around to her group of talented hitters. It’s been quite a run for the junior setter.
West’s numbers just keep climbing. She is always a threat to drop three kills per set–or more–giving Wausa a wide array of terminal options. The Vikings will keep leaning on the high-flying junior as the late-season grind approaches.
