And one that I noticed was the number of athletes who had an impact at the state tournament this year. Let’s take a look at some of those athletes who will be playing at the Top 250 Expo.
Brooke is an incredibly efficient middle blocker with a high swing and a heavy hand on the ball. At the state tournament, she was an impact player for Sussex-Hamilton. She had seven kills in the state semi-final match against DSHA and only one error, hitting a 0.353. She also contributed two blocks. Brooke has a lot of potential and continues to learn and improve continuously.
Lillian is a setter with huge potential. She was key for Burlington in their state tournament appearance. She was new to my radar at state, and it was fun watching her play. She has clean hands and good placement of the ball. She is only a sophomore and I can’t wait to see the leadership role she steps into during the club and future high school seasons.
Highlights
Eva is a top 20 player in her class and will be one to watch at the Top 250 Expo. She was a huge leader for Sussex Hamilton and was a consistent force for the Chargers throughout the season. Eva is a true six-rotation athlete who can play effectively anywhere on the court.
Sam is an athlete I want to see play more volleyball. She served at the state tournament and tallied up a handful of aces and digs. She played a really solid role for Sussex Hamilton and has the potential to do more in her senior season. She will be a player to watch at the Top 250 Expo.

Mia is an explosive pin hitter who is dynamic and versatile. She played a key role for her club team in their National Championship run as an outside hitter and then was an offensive leader for Pewaukee on the right side. Her ability to fill in and play on either pin at a high level is invaluable. Mia had eight kills and three blocks in the state semifinal match.

Lizzy was one of my unsung heroes of the state tournament. She was a serving specialist who went in and was consistent and lethal. She contributed numerous aces throughout the tournament. What the box score stats don’t show is how often her serves forced opposing teams out of system and ultimately led to a Raccoon point. She is also a very talented setter with a lot of potential.
Madison was an essential player for Franklin. They had a fantastic run, making it to the state tournament, and worked incredibly hard on the court. Madison ran a 5-1 and was an energizer and motivator on the court. She builds up her team around her and is a game-changer on every point.

Marlee is a dynamite player who has garnered quite a bit of (well-deserved) attention over the past two years. She is one of the top pins in the state and is only a sophomore. She has a high reach and lightning-fast arm swing. Pair that with a high volleyball IQ and a toolbox of shots, and she can manufacture points from nearly anywhere on the court.
Camille is a pin hitter on the rise. She was a huge presence on the court at the state tournament and really cemented herself as a player to watch in this class. Camille is athletic and knows how to put the ball down even in high-pressure situations. She is effective in the front and back row and is a solid defender as well.

Avery is a pin hitter with a huge vertical. She works hard on the court and always makes herself available for the ball, even in out-of-system situations. While she did not get as many attempts as some of the other hitters, she executed every chance she was given.
Stella was new on my radar at the state tournament. She is incredibly well-rounded and adds a lot of value as a setter and on defense. In the state semifinal match, she had 12 assists, 2 aces, and 14 digs. Stella is an absolute gamer who stepped up and got the job done when her team needed her most.
Highlights
Emily was a dynamite player at state. She was unstoppable and fearless in the back row. She even broke a state record for the number of digs. Emily’s court awareness is absolutely superb, and she covers so much space on serve receive and defense. It is hard to get anything past her and she is a talented serve receiver as well.
