#5 Lucky Fasavalu, SLucky Fasavalu, in my assessment, is one of the most talented attackers in the 2027 graduating class. Hence, I was initially surprised to see her taking on the quarterback position instead of her usual spot on the outside. Initially, it felt like a strategic rotational move or perhaps a clever trick play. Glancing at the starting outsides and observing the eager players on the sideline, it dawned on me that this team is stacked with starting-line-up worthy hitters, each eager for their turn to take a swing at the ball. Coming to terms with the fact that Lucky wouldn’t be occupying the role that typically racks up kills, I settled in to witness her transition into the pivotal role of the team’s setter. What unfolded before me was a display of unwavering confidence and skill in orchestrating strategic plays. Lucky seamlessly ran the game, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted flow in play. Her finesse in setting up plays underscored her ability to manage the court effectively, sustaining the team’s momentum with grace. The way she executed her setting skills went beyond the fundamentals; it felt as if she had an understanding of the setter’s mindset. Her connection with the middle players during the 3-set was so seamless and natural, it seemed as though she had been setting plays like that her entire life.Lucky embodies the essence of a versatile athlete, showcasing a myriad of talents. She possesses the ability to serve aces, deliver precise passes, hit the ball with thunderous force, confidently block opposing shots, effortlessly dig difficult plays, and set the ball as if it were an innate talent. This position change, in my view, accentuates Lucky’s versatility and opens doors for her to attract even more attention from top-tier D1 schools. I am genuinely excited to witness her continued progress and development in this new role.
