Annika Wright Annika Wright 5'9" | S Tahoma | 2025 State WA and Peyton Ensign Peyton Ensign 5'9" | S Curtis | 2025 State WA sit in the top two setter spots in the rankings; both have been excellent during the club season. The group of setters is strong overall in the rankings, with 7 in the top 30 and excellent athletes up and down the 37 setters ranked overall. Most importantly, this group sets a hittable ball- and that’s the number one task for all setters when you get down to it. After that, height, athleticism, defense, serving, attacking, leadership, etc., begin to separate players in the rankings.

Continue ReadingBerry is leading the charge for her Central Region United 17 Max team. The squad had a compact playing schedule, focusing in on the qualifiers in late March and April. CRU Max 17 had excellent finishes, ultimately earning a bid to Nationals with a 2nd place finish in the USA Division at PNQ. Berry plays a 5-1, and sets up her attackers in great positions by being a threat to score herself and locating a hittable ball to either pin.
Highlights
The junior setter from WVBA 18 Adidas has been winning at a high clip during the club season. Eastwood has terrific hands and moves around the court smoothly distributing to her attackers. Playing up in age division has not impacted her level of play, the Jackson standout has kept Open division level defenses on their heels and ran a fast-tempo, dynamic offense for WVBA.
Highlights
Esping is a strong dual threat setter, with great timing as an attacker. She will easily push her sets pin to pin, and has a winning attitude on the court. The lefty can rise up and blast a second ball when she is in the 5-1, and her connection with her teammates on her Seattle juniors squad is terrific. Ranked as the #15 overall setter in the 2025 Prep Dig Washington update, Esping continues to play with great energy and support for her teammates.
Highlights
Ross is excellent setting in the 6-2 for CPA Drew 17, and in the same role at Ridgeline during the school season. The 5’6″ junior is always a gritty defender, and has quick feet to find her way to the second ball. Ross works her middles, and understands keeping all the hitters on her team involved in the offense. She shows a high volleyball IQ and keeps her team moving with positive energy on the court.
The WVBA 17 Adidas setter is a superior communicator on the court, she has everyone in the right place and running the right attacks. Akolzin has a repeatable set up and she looks the same every time is ready to contact the ball. This makes her location extremely consistent and keeps blockers from overplaying hitters. Akolzin approaches the game smartly and with confidence, and the Kentwood junior checks in as the #59 ranked player overall in the classe.
Highlights
Davenport is a long, athletic lefty who can swing from the right-side if needed. Her strengths as a setter is her high, easy hands when she releases the ball and smooth, decisive movement that lets her track down tough passes. The Walla Walla junior has verbally committed to Eastern Washington, and she checks in currently as the #45 overall player in the 2025 rankings.
Lindow is having a great season out of the setter spot. The 5’9″ junior is working out of a 5-1 for Seattle Volleyball Academy and has been efficient and high out put as an attacking threat. Her location and connection with her outsides is solid, and she has a good, neutral approach that has been keeping middles honest while SVA runs it’s offense.
