With the flurry of late-season events winding down, we’ve recently started taking a wholesale look at some 2024’s top performers and stock risers. 2026 pin hitters were just in the spotlight, and we’re sticking with a similar theme for this one.
What about the 2027s? This year marked our first extended look at this class on the club stage, and the Great Plains Region did not disappoint. We saw a medley of familiar high school standouts and new names for our watch list. This feature will address both as we find the biggest late-season stock risers among 2027 pin hitters.
Nebraska’s future stars are already making gains.
Not many Nebraska 2027s have more momentum than Herian. Her prep career got out to a roaring start as she helped Pierce High School get back to the state tournament. We were anxious to see how her hard-hitting style would translate to club competition with Nebraska Elite’s top 15s squad. Our answer came quickly. Herian’s explosiveness and backcourt prowess guided 15 Revolution to an NLQ title, and the wins have kept rolling in since. This left-side attacker consistently steps up on the biggest stages, so GJNC is sure to bring some excitement.
Fettin has done a little of everything for Premier 15 Gold this year. Early events showed us how she can influence matches as a defender. Fettin frequently donned 15 Gold’s libero jersey and passed dimes from the back row. However, that wouldn’t be Fettin’s only spot in the lineup this season. She also became a go-to left-side attacker at the Show Me Qualifier as 15 Gold secures its “double qualification” in the Open division. This is a multi-talented star who will do anything to help her team win.

Bornschlegl earned some playing time with last fall’s Norris team, which notched another runner-up finish in Class B. That’s quite an accomplishment, but Bornschlegl has been aiming even higher in 2024. She’s a dynamic pin attacker who also carries significant serve receive responsibilities for VCNebraska 15 Elite. This kind of multi-faceted effort was key to 15 Elite’s bid-earning triumph at MEQ. Bornschlegl stayed on her hot streak at the Show Me Qualifier and is dialed in for this summer’s finale.
Let’s stick with the VCNebraska camp. Drevo’s quick arm is a reliable asset for 15 Black under any circumstances. Our most recent Midwest Power League put Drevo’s out-of-system termination on display. She gets her feet to the ball, has a fast finish to her approach, and drives the ball past floor defenders with ease. 2024 offered an extraordinary look at VCN’s 15s depth, and we can’t wait to document this club’s future success.

April was clearly a big month for South Central NE. All of this club’s big performances helped bring athletes like Davis into the spotlight. Davis anchored 15 Black’s right side during the Great Plains Bid Tournament and gave the team unmatched frontcourt physicality. Vegas is the next stop for Davis, and she’s ready to step into our 2027 watch list, too.
The Snyder name is a mainstay at Club Legacy—especially at the outside hitter spot. This latest iteration is a standout with 15 Alpha who is finding her groove along the net. Snyder and her team found steady improvement while competing on the Great Plains stage, particularly at the Midwest Power League. More Club Legacy athletes are ready to join our player database.

Seward High School is becoming a steady pipeline for Nebraska ONE ‘s most talented squads. Eberspacher adds to that list after a successful 2024 season with 15 Black. She packs a ton of heat when swinging into the crosscourt and is adding impressive range to her arsenal. This Nebraska ONE squad has a ton of worthy front-row options, but Eberspacher emerged as a consistent threat in late-season action.
Bring on the next wave of River City Jrs standouts. Duncan is a past participant on the Prep Dig Circuit and has applied her varied skills to the 2024 club season. She sees the opposing block well and compiles clutch kills for 15 Navy. Duncan will also not shy away from going pass-to-attack as a frontcourt hitter. Her stock has risen toward the end of the year and should keep going up on the prep side.
Premier Nebraska 15 Black is stacked with future trendsetters in the 2027 class. Capece landed on our radar before the 2024 season after she competed in one of our Prep Dig Showcase events. Her star potential was evident there, but Capece is elevating her game further with 15 Black. She is an all-around gem who puts as much effort into her ball control as her attacking. January’s NLQ title wasn’t enough for Capece as 15 Black climbed the ladder again at Show Me. Perhaps a GJNC podium is next on the agenda.

Nebraska ONE 15 Lime gets another shoutout. Great Plains Region venues have often so many examples of how Jones can take over a match. She terminates well behind the setter, even when the offense is not in a perfect rhythm. Jones is also comfortable in the back row and can make difficult defensive plays in the right-back area. The April grind ended at the GPR Bid Tournament, where Jones brought several more additions to her highlight tape.
