While we’re discussing multi-dimensional liberos, we might as well bring Fettin into the conversation. Our first look at Fettin came during last year’s 15s season, where she played a medley of DS and outside hitter roles. Fettin’s natural athleticism makes her a fit for both roles, and she can go pass-to-attack with ruthless efficiency. She joined Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy this year and has been the team’s “wildcard” player in the starting rotation. Even if Fettin is playing exclusively across the back row, look for this Papio standout to take swings behind the three-meter line.

Fettin is another of the big wildcards for 16 Synergy. Like Bowman, Fettin can lock down the libero jersey and put her backcourt prowess on display. However, as mentioned in previous features, this Papio sophomore was a high-volume outside hitter for the Monarchs last fall. Fettin can effectively play a defensive specialist role for 16 Synergy while also carrying a back-row attacking threat from that position. Another layer of multi-talented influence from Fettin could be a difference-maker as 16 Synergy embarks on future USAV qualifiers.

Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy has experimented with several different lineups throughout early-season play. That means a lot of different passers in the formation, and the team needs a “glue” player to provide continuity. Fettin can fill that role for 16 Synergy and has most often donned the libero jersey for this group. She brings a rare combination of athleticism and instincts to the position, owing to Fettin’s experience as an outside hitter. NIT is the first big test for the new wave of Synergy stars.

Fettin is a do-it-all player who has found a new home with Nebraska ONE ‘s vaunted Synergy squad. We saw the Papio sophomore don the libero jersey through much of her stay at last weekend’s Nebraska Elite Classic. However, Fettin has also wielded a terminal swing throughout her prep career and compiled over 200 kills for the Monarchs last year. Her experience as an attacker likely helps Fettin read opposing attackers and make quick breaks to the ball. Those instincts will be tested again at the Midwest Power League.

Fettin has done a little of everything for Premier 15 Gold this year. Early events showed us how she can influence matches as a defender. Fettin frequently donned 15 Gold’s libero jersey and passed dimes from the back row. However, that wouldn’t be Fettin’s only spot in the lineup this season. She also became a go-to left-side attacker at the Show Me Qualifier as 15 Gold secures its “double qualification” in the Open division. This is a multi-talented star who will do anything to help her team win.

We’ve covered some of Premier 15 Gold’s frontcourt terminators, but what about the back row? Fettin got her shot at the libero spot in Sunday’s Power League and was more than willing to secure the end line. Her knack for reading opposing hitters puts Fettin in the right place to make a perfect transition dig. She’s the kind of libero who makes tough plays look easy, and that will be an important asset as 15 Gold takes on qualifiers.
