These athletes have dedicated countless hours to the sport they love, and tomorrow, the recruiting floodgates open. Remember, tomorrow is just the beginning. If you aren't contacted right away, it doesn't mean you aren't being recruited. Some coaches take a few days to even months to reach out to a prospective student-athlete (PSA). This communication can occur via phone, text, email, social media, or postal mail. Coaches who have been scouting players for a year or two may extend a verbal offer on this day or anytime thereafter</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Preparing for June 15</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are several ways you can prepare for June 15 to ensure you're ready to answer coaches' questions and to ask your own.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list {"ordered":true} --> <ol><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong>Prepare a List of Questions.</strong> Create a list of questions about program goals, team culture, general school information, scholarship/financial aid details, and support post-graduation. You may not need to ask all of them, as the coach may cover some in their initial introduction.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong>Organize Your Background Information. </strong>Prepare information about your personal goals, accomplishments in club/school, major interests, etc. Have this organized and written down so you can refer to it when a coach contacts you. This will help you avoid forgetting important details or going blank during the conversation.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong>Invite Coaches to Your Games.</strong> Offer coaches your schedule for the upcoming school/club season. During club, you want to especially invite coaches to any club National qualifiers and tournaments in your interested college's state or nearby state. If you don't have a schedule yet, inform them that you'll follow up via email as soon as you have one.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong>Diversify Your Options: </strong>Don't focus solely on one school. Keep reaching out to other schools on your target list if you haven't committed to a school yet.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --> <!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong>Follow up with a thank you email.</strong> Let the coach know you appreciate their consideration in a short email. Be sure to include your contact info and stay in contact throughout your season. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ol> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What to expect if you are contacted?</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you're listed on the PrepDig Contact List, you may receive a call or email from a college coach on June 15. This initial contact is a chance for both parties to get acquainted. Coaches will introduce their school and program, and they'll want to learn about your academic interests, your experience with your current school and club team, and your extracurricular activities beyond volleyball. Remember, you are evaluating them just as much as they are assessing your potential.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What to do if you aren't contacted?&nbsp;</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you aren't contacted on June 15, don't worry, there is still plenty of time. Your journey is just getting started. Increase your chances of getting recruited by being proactive. Just as coaches can contact you, you can contact them as well via email, phone or social media DM. In addition, you can complete prospective athlete questionnaires on team websites to get on school radars. Be sure to include your contact info, athletic/academic achievements, Hudl links and links to your highlight reels or Youtube.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Final Thoughts</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is an exciting time for players and their families.
