Below are my top ten players from the class of 2025 who have yet to commit. Of the top 30 just over 60 percent have committed. So all of the players named below fall in our top 30 for 2025. A lot of talent still available to help.

There are a number of mysteries in the world. One of those that clearly stand out is why the top volleyball player (as named by Maxprep) in the state of Maryland has yet to commit.

Last year she led Richard Montgomery to their first ever state championship. Ema finished fourth in kills and 15th in assists for the state of Maryland. She brings a lefthanded swing that creates power from the right side. While the right side remains her strength she can easily move over to the left side. When playing left side she occupies all six rotations and becomes an integral part of the passing rotation. So she can pass, set, hit from both pins while also playing an incredible defense. Sounds like someone I would want on my team.

Ema ranks number 7 overall in the DMV class of 2025, but more importantly the number one ranked right side. As we have learned from the Olympics, those right sides can win you championships.

[player_tooltip player_id='181299' first='Ada' last='McCoy'] plays left side for both [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] and Musselman. Max Preps recently named her as the top player from West Virginia. She led Musselman to the finals of the West Virginia high school state championship. Despite her 31 kills they fell short. She also led [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] to the number 4 ranking in the Chesapeake Region, according to Avanced Event System (AES).

Ada finished number one in the state of West Virginia in kills with 708. As a frosh she finished with 13 kills in the championship match. She combined with Hannah Howard for 30 total to lead the Applemen to the West Virginia state championship. As a sophomore she finished with 15 kills, while Hannah contributed 12 to lead Musselman to a second state championship.

Hannah Howard currently plays libero for UMBC. It might be a good move for UMBC to reunite the two to win another American East championship. That duo seems pretty good at winning titles while playing together.

[player_tooltip player_id='235291' first='Sadee' last='Gedse'] L/DS (Oakton/[program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last='']) - Sadie ranks at number 15 in the class of 2025, but for liberos she only ranks behind [player_tooltip player_id='196556' first='Caleigh' last='Ponn'], who recently was named as the top player in the state of Virginia. Last year Sadee earned the libero of the year award for the Concorde District and first team all region. This past club season she filled the defensive specialist role as [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] took fifth place in the Junior Nationals in the American Division. They only lost one match all tournament. That was to OT Jose in the first round of the gold bracket. Sadee is quick on the court, reads hitters well and can pass with the top liberos.

Simone started as a middle her first two seasons with Riverside. Last year they moved her to left side. They were rewarded with an undefeated season until they lost in the finals of the state championship. For club she started the season with [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] but got lost in a roster crunch.

She won second team all state hitting outside. As a middle during her sophomore season she actually won player of the year for the Potomac District. For her senior year she hopes to culminate her high school season with a state championship. In my book Riverside is the top high school volleyball team in the state of Virginia. It would surprise me if they lost a match this year. Simone is one of those players who will lead the way.

A very unselfish player. Last year Ava moved to outside for Warren County high school and earned All Region 3B player of the year. The Northern Virginia Daily rewarded her with co-player of the year. She played six rotations, finishing with 297 kills and 221 digs.

She returned to middle when playing travel ball for [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge']. When playing middle she acts as an outside, putting the higher sets to the floor. She can hit the ball left or right from the middle. At times, [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] uses her in serve receive.

Like many [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] players, Ava also plays a pretty mean beach game. It enhances her all around game when playing indoor.

Riley has the versatility and height to play middle or right side. Madison went on a big winning streak when she moved to right side, steaking to 13 straight wins. Included in that streak was two wins over Class 6 Virginia state champion Langley. They finally lost in four to Battlefield in the semi-final of the Class 6 Virginia state championship.

Riley and [player_tooltip player_id='235324' first='Rowan' last='Johnson'] (below) were the primary middle blockers for Virginia Juniors last year. They finished in 35th place in the Freedom Division at Junior Nationals.

Madison is expected to be one of the few high schools that have a chance to win the state championship. If they hope to do so Riley will play a critical role.

[player_tooltip player_id='235324' first='Rowan' last='Johnson'] also has the versatility to play both right side and middle. She plays mostly middle for Holy Cross, while for Virginia Juniors she played some right side.

Last year Holy Cross won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC), finishing the season 29-0. The Washington Post voted them the number one team in the DMV area. While Emerson Sellman earned MVP honors in the WCAC the Tartans still needed Rowan to fill the middle to accomplish the feat. Rowan finished third on the team in both blocks and kills.

This year Rowan will be expected to be one of the main offensive pieces on the team (just committed to Akron).

[player_tooltip player_id='309030' first='Corinne' last='Howard'] M/OH (Richard Montgomery/MVSA) - Corinne plays both basketball and volleyball for Richard Montgomery. An extremely athletic player who did not begin playing volleyball until her frosh season for Richard Montgomery. At 5'11" she may be under sized for a middle. Despite that she finished second on the team in blocks and third in kills. For the Rockets she also plays basketball for them as a power forward. In volleyball she can dominate a game up the middle. With more experience could become an impact player on the outside. In the state championship game she finished with 10 kills, six blocks and three digs. At the end of the season she earned honorable mention honors for the Montgomery County all star team along with Carolyn Kaye her opposite at middle. Carolyn committed to Navy.

[player_tooltip player_id='184604' first='Nia' last='Thomas'] is one of the top ranked liberos in the area. She is extremely athletic while on the floor, while combining that witha strong volleyball IQ to know where to play defense.

In high school Nia plays libero for Bullis, one of the top ten high school teams in the DMV area. St. Johns and Virginia Juniors relies on her to put the ball away on the outside. Both teams also look at her for her team leadership abilities.

For St. Johns Rocky led the Cadets in kills with a .253 hitting percentage.
