You saw our preseason list. It didn't take long for it to shake up but that's perfectly fine. I like the fact teams are playing other quality teams out of the gate. It makes for more entertaining volleyball and gets teams ready for the season. I'm sure this list will change with new teams in and out for the first month of the season until we get some clarity. For example, four new teams entering week one of [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] 15, and certain we could see other additions next week. Here we go!

1. St. Thomas Aquinas (4-0)

The Saints played in that two versus three matchup against Mill Valley at the Spectrum Slam and came out on top. They move to the top spot after starting the year with 4 wins. [player_tooltip player_id='153937' first='Alea' last='Goolsby'] is out the gates fast averaging just under 5 kills per set and hitting at a blistering ..465.

2. Blue Valley North (3-0)

The Mustangs took down Seaman in their first match of the season and followed that up with a couple of additional wins. [player_tooltip player_id='173384' first='Jenna' last='McClure'] is averaging 4.4 kills per set after three matches. [player_tooltip player_id='757260' first='Gabby' last='Powell'] has joined the line-up as the second setter and leads the team with 50 assists.

3. Olathe West (8-1)

The first big jump in the rankings is Olathe West. They do have a loss, dropping a match to St. James but they also beat our previous number one team, Blue Valley West. They are out to eight wins early in the season. [player_tooltip player_id='355651' first='Neely' last='Leathers'] is leading the team in assists and digs after nine matches.

4. Bishop Miege (2-0)

Miege moves up a couple of spots from six after picking up two wins to start the season. [player_tooltip player_id='478871' first='Maryn' last='Dean'] has 51 assists in the two games, putting her at an average of around 25 per match.

5. Mill Valley (2-1)

The only blemish on their early schedule is a loss to Aquinas. [player_tooltip player_id='436201' first='Riley' last='Riggs'] is showing there won't be a sophomore slump from her as she started the year on fire.

6. Blue Valley West (3-1)

West has two really strong wins, one over Lee's Summit West and the other over St. James. They were dropped by #3 Olathe West. [player_tooltip player_id='480396' first='Peyton' last='Kubik'] is starting the year at 4 kills per set.

7. St. James (4-1)

The Thunder beat Lansing in their opening match and also beat Olathe West. The sole loss to date is to #6 Blue Valley West.

8. Blue Valley Southwest (4-0)

Southwest moves up some after a 4-0 start to the season. They have a balanced attack with three players with at least 25 kills on the year.

9. Lansing (2-1)

Lansing dropped the final match of the day at the Slam to #7 St. James.

10. Park Hill South (11-3)

The Panthers enter the ranking after playing a heavy schedule to start the season. We have our eye on them in the preseason but wanted to see how the start of the season gets going. They have losses to #1 Aquinas and #9 Lansing. They beat ranked Liberty North. [player_tooltip player_id='219763' first='Peyton' last='Liming'] has already garnered over 100 kills to start the season.

11. Blue Valley Northwest (2-0)

Blue Valley Northwest beat previously ranked St. Michael's in the St. James Slam to start the year. [player_tooltip player_id='222086' first='Morgan' last='Sears'] at 6.4 kills per set is what we call a good start to the year.

12. Lee's Summit North (2-0)

Like Park Hill South, we thought the Broncos had enough pieces to start in the rankings but needed to see how they started. They are 2-0 with a win over previously ranked Blue Springs South.

13. Liberty North (3-1)

North has one loss and it was to our number ten-ranked Park Hill South team. They defeated a previously ranked Lee's Summit West squad and a newly ranked Park Hill team. Kamryn Hinnenkamp has 111 assists.

14. Park Hill (5-1)

Park Hill enters the rankings at 14 with their sole defeat coming at the hands of Liberty North. They will be tested this week in a match-up against crosstown rival Park Hill South. [player_tooltip player_id='357577' first='Addyson' last='Staples'] has transitioned into the libero jersey and has been solid thus far.

15. St. Pius X (1-1)

We leave Pius in at 15 with their loss coming to 10th-ranked Park Hill South in three. We should know more about them this week with a match against a quality North Kansas City team approaching.
