Club Previews: VCN 17 Elite

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are continuing to preview VCN teams this week and we will take a look at 17 Elite. This team has a lot of new faces on the roster added to some familiar faces. Let's take a sneak peek at this talented team:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Starting off with the ball control crew is 5'4” [player_tooltip player_id='349487' first='Alaina' last='Kopf'] from Tri-County. She racked up 553 digs and 50 ace serves for the Trojans this past fall. She has great ball control in serve receive from any position on the floor. Kopf not only reads hitters well, but also covers her hitters and gets balls off the block nicely. She also has a great float serve and can hit the seams well.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Skutt Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='524200' first='Marin' last='Brummund'] will also add high level ball control to Elite this year. She had 38 ace serves this year and was a defensive specialist for the Skyhawks. Being in the high powered and talented Skyhawk program she will bring a championship mentality and energy to&nbsp; the team.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6'0 Middle Blocker [player_tooltip player_id='253933' first='Peyton' last='Svendsen'] has high contact and can place the ball on the court anywhere. She is able to tip right over the block or find the deep court. Svendsen had 48 blocks and 141 kills for the Southeast Knights this past fall.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another Skutt Catholic athlete in [player_tooltip player_id='276190' first='Amelia' last='Boone'] will also be strong in the middle. She is an excellent blocker and had 25 blocks for the Skyhawks this past fall. She does a great job of reading hitters and pressing for the block stuff.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Setter [player_tooltip player_id='251144' first='Ellie' last='Eckman'] is one of the most experienced and talented setters in this age division in Nebraska. She racked up 870 assists this past fall for the Southwest Silverhawks. She has great soft hands and squares well to her hitters. Eckman also has a great jump float serve and tallied 38 aces this past season. Elkhorn North's [player_tooltip player_id='458134' first='Millie' last='Mauch'] will also be setting for Elite this year. She primarily was a defensive specialist for the Timberwolves this past fall. She has good ball control and nice hands.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heavy hitter [player_tooltip player_id='292243' first='Cosette' last='Bartling'], a 5'10” Outside from Elkhorn South, will be a force on the pin. She is so explosive and strong and jumps out of the gym. She hammered 302 kills this past fall for the State Runner Up Storm.&nbsp; Primarily played front row in the fall, but played six rotations during club. She is listed as a Defensive Specialist on Hudl as well.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bartling's Storm teammate 5'10” [player_tooltip player_id='275902' first='Siena' last='Sumner'] played Middle this past, fall but is listed as playing as an outside for Elite. She is so strong and can get on top of the ball. She hammered 140 kills this past fall. Her versatility will be a huge advantage for Elite!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another pin hitter is lefty [player_tooltip player_id='349479' first='Kamryn' last='Behrns'] who comes from David City. She hammered 452 kills this past fall and is up to 1179 kills in her career for the Scouts. She is strong and can jump. Behrns has a great approach and can hit on either pin! Another versatile pin hitter is Syndey Schram from Skutt Catholic. She has a nice swing and can jump well from either pin. She also brings a lot of energy to the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>6 '1 " Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='253928' first='Madeline' last='Lamb'] transitions well on the outside giving her plenty of room to hit line or cross court. She is explosive and fast and can tool shot off high hands. She had 252 kills for the Westside Warriors this past fall. She will be another huge weapon for Elite!&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Norris' [player_tooltip player_id='349456' first='Carlie' last='Talbott'] is a jack of all trades player who is listed as a pin hitter, but can also set and primarily was a serving specialist for State Champion Norris this past fall. She has a fantastic serve that is hard to handle and will do anything you ask her to do on the floor. She played outside hitter for the 19-0 Norris Junior Varsity as well. Talbott brings a ton of energy to the floor!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>17 Elite is really strong in all positions and should have a fantastic year! They start off the season at the Colorado Challenge January 18-20th. Keep tabs on this talented team this club season!&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
