The recruiting journey is not over for the Class of 2026.

Triple Crown NIT is often regarded as one of the biggest college recruiting spectacles on the club volleyball calendar. Coaches are released from the dead period and flock to Kansas City to check on prospects. This year, it's easy to focus on the 2027s with the collegiate communication window opening for that group in June. However, we still have a lot of uncommitted 2026s with impact potential at the next level.

Let's give a much-needed nod to the uncommitted 2026s who excelled on the national stage in Kansas City.

This is Eckman's second consecutive year leading [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last='']'s top 17s group. The Lincoln Southwest setter has an uncanny feel for tempo, location, and just about any other intangible you'd want from your signal-caller. [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] squads are known for pushing the pace and overwhelming opponents with speed, and Eckman can perfectly execute this strategy. Her stock continues to rise after another high-profile outing at NIT.

Brummund is one of Nebraska's most recent stock risers from the Class of 2026. She was a lethal serving specialist for Omaha Skutt Catholic last year, propelling the SkyHawks to another state title appearance. This standout defender leaped to [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 17 Elite this season and has exhibited her potential as a game-changing libero. Brummund can dive into the crosscourt to pick up hard-driven balls that would otherwise dent the floor. She also makes difficult passes look routine--a skill not reflected in the box score. 2026s are still developing, and Brummund is playing the best volleyball of her prep career.

Talbott is a true Swiss army knife for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 17 Elite. Her native position is on the right pin, where Talbott can dish out impressive swings into the open court. However, this Norris standout also has vast experience in the back row and can anchor the middle-back area as a DS. It's an unusual set of skills for an opposite, but Talbott embraces this role and performs it well. Her consistent contributions will be crucial to getting 17 Elite back to USAV Nationals.

Like many of her current club teammates, Larsen has climbed the ladder at Premier Nebraska to become an impact player with 17 Gold. Her ascent peaked when 17 Gold secured an Open bid through January's Northern Lights Qualifier. Larsen's physicality and power present tough matchups for opposing hitters, and the Papio South junior has also upped her game in the attacking phase. Look for Larsen to keep putting in quality reps as her team looks forward to GJNC.

Every year has given us a new phase in Liebsack's meteoric development. 2025 brings us more of what has made Liebsack a multi-year all-state performer at Bennington High School. She hits a heavy ball in the seam and can also chop down the line to keep defenders off-balance. Premier Nebraska 17 Gold starts with Liebsack behind the service line to make full use of her wicked jump-spin delivery. Her continued excellence on the national stage has been something to behold.

Faust's leadership has impressed us since she first competed on the national stage as a 15s athlete. She can adapt to whatever system her team deploys, from a one-setter offense to a 6-2 lineup. Setters often become blocking liabilities in the front row, but this doesn't apply to Faust. She anchors the right side well and is also an eager attacker on the second contact. Her NIT reps with Premier Nebraska 17 Black have elevated her stock further.

Freeland's versatility at the net has made her a frequent standout at big events like NIT. She can excel in the middle or on the right, giving Premier Nebraska 17 Black plenty of options from match to match. Her aggressive swings as an opposite have been in the spotlight lately, and Freeland was not deterred by elite opponents in Kansas City. This Gretna East product is finding her rhythm during early-season action.
