After almost eight months of intense action around the country, the club volleyball season came to an end last week, with the USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship taking place in Dallas.

The prospects from Texas won't, however, have a lot of time to breathe and relax after defending their club teams, as, in just over a month, on August 11, the high school volleyball season is about to begin in the Lone Star State, with the first matches of the University Interscholastic Legue (UIL) being held.

As in the past years, Prep Dig Texas will continue to follow the action closely in the Houston area, attending multiple matches every week and providing comprehensive coverage, with analysis, photos and social media posts from each of them.

It should be another exciting season, filled with highly-contested matches and strong individual performances, and, before August 11 arrives, we'll preview each district in the Houston area so you know exactly what to expect from each team competing:

District 15

Klein

Klein finished eighth in the district last year, registering three wins and 13 losses - the team had a season record of 16 victories and 24 defeats. The Lady Bearkats will be able to return most of their squad in 2025 as outside hitter Layla Samoska, setter Stephanie Ho and middle blocker Megan Cole were the seniors with significant playing time who graduated after their last campaign. Junior outside hitters Allie Lindsey and [player_tooltip player_id='486940' first='Jaicee' last='Smith'], junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='575000' first='Mariah' last='Brown'], senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='474138' first='Asha' last='King'] and senior libero Bri Ho will be key pieces for Klein in the upcoming season.

Klein Cain

Klein Cain ranked seventh in the district in 2024 after they got four wins and 12 losses - the team ended the season with 14 victories and 31 defeats. The Lady Canes will need to rebuild a little bit after middle Avery Hawkins, right side Katelyn Marti, setters Page Ebel and Nicole Guzman and libero Carson Roye graduated. Their leading scorer last season, outside hitter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='229048' first='Josie' last='Adair Hoff'] will lead the new team, with junior outside hitterKelly Wright, senior middle Trenidee Hines and sophomore setter [player_tooltip player_id='727300' first='Lindsay' last='Streams'] offering valuable support.

Klein Collins

Klein Colins ended up in sixth place last year with their campaign of eight wins and eight losses - their overall season record has 16 positive results and 18 upsets. The Lady Tigers enter 2025 without three of their main scorers after outside hitters Brynn Metoyer and Jael Price and middle blocker Molly Felkins graduated. The team's top player, junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='501893' first='Chandler' last='Carter'] should have an even larger role this season, while senior outside hitter Arielle Ajayi, junior setters Zoe Stuhlmiller and [player_tooltip player_id='437580' first='Avery' last='Guinn'] and senior libero Aubrey Rodriguez all embrace more responsibility.

Klein Forest

Klein Forest struggled to keep up with the high level of the district in 2024 and ended up in ninth place after they dropped all their 16 matches and didn't win sets - the team found success in non-district play, though, ending the season with a 4-22 win record. Between middles Melodi Paige and Aaliyah Welch, outside hitter Ayana Lowe and setter Soleirys Gomila, the Lady Eagles lost four key players to graduation. Some of their most important returning players will be senior outside hitter Hailey Johnson, senior libero Harmonee' Bryant and junior setter Robynn Porter.

Klein Oak

Klein Oak made it to the postseason last year after they finished fourth in the district with a campaign of ten wins and six losses. The team, which completed the season with a 26-19 win record, competed in the Division 1 Playoffs, but didn't make it far, falling to Cypress Ranch in the bi-district round. There should be good continuity for the Lady Panthers in 2025 as right side Kortney Craig and middle Alana Trotman were the only members of their graduating class who had big roles in 2024. With junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='502107' first='Camille' last='Csernik'], senior outside hitter Tori Leggiero, junior right side Ava Schweiger, senior libero Erin Carpenter, junior senior [player_tooltip player_id='486951' first='Lily' last='Singletary'] and senior setter Samantha Kuehnle, Klein Oak have a solid foundation to build from.

Magnolia

Magnolia missed the playoffs last year, finishing fifth in the district with eight wins and eight losses - their overall season record was a positive 19-15. Outside hitter Hailey Admire, right side Lily Anderson, libero Mallie Kitchens and setter Sophia Mallare spearheaded the Lady Bulldogs' last graduating class. In 2025, the team will be led by star senior libero Henlee Moszkowicz and senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='486928' first='Ava' last='Bobnar'] and will count on a promising young core that features sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='568767' first='Jilian' last='Edwards'] (setter/right side) and Kylie Lucas (outside hitter) and junior [player_tooltip player_id='531649' first='Danica' last='Beveridge'] (middle).

Magnolia West

Magonlia West had the second-best campaign in the district, qualifying for the postseason with a 12-4 win record. The Lady Mustangs made it past the first round of the Division 2 Playoffs, but fell to College Park in the area round, ending their season with 28 vitories and 12 defeats. The team's leading scorer in 2024, outside hitter Sydnie Mullens is gone, but besides her, the team lost just two other players to graduation - libero Lauren Brown and outside hitter Zoe Garcia. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='240982' first='Shannon' last='Dworaczyk'] will continue to call the shots in the team's offense, having junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='534382' first='Hayden' last='Stebbins'], junior right side [player_tooltip player_id='443005' first='Alex' last='Kerman'] and junior middle Rubie Mullens as her main options. Another junior, [player_tooltip player_id='745515' first='Holly' last='Ratcliffe'], should step in as the team's starting libero.

Tomball

Toomball ended up in third place in district play last year, securing 12 victories and four losses - they ended the season with 22 positive results and 20 upsets. The Lady Cougars survived the first round of the Division 2 Playoffs, but were knocked out by Oak Ridge in the area round. The team will need to find another setter after both Paige Dibala and Jaxon Doty graduated - middle Lauren Schippanoski and right side Emery Hornes are also gone. Junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='269795' first='Gemma' last='Hopkins'], senior outside hitter Heidi Horan, junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='501890' first='Georgia' last='Hornes'], junior outside hitter Sophia Knowles and senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='269824' first='Natalie' last='Kettler'] should form the core of the team, with senior Camilla Prado standing out as the most likely starting setter.

Tomball Memorial

Tomball Memorial were the top team in the district with a nearly perfect campaign of 15 wins and one loss. They had a tough matchup right in the bi-district round of the Division 1 Playoffs and went down to Bridgeland, ending their season with 30 victories and 15 defeats. With setter Sydni Halfmann and middle Lila Westphal being the only seniors who graduated after their successful campaign, the Lady Wildcats appear to be in a good position to do well again. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='269827' first='Sarah' last='Odell'] (outside hitter), [player_tooltip player_id='500500' first='Lily' last='Reins'] (outside hitter) and Amber Craig (right side) should lead the team's offense, with senior Camdyn Chaddock playing the libero role and senior Keira Sky Pierce and junior [player_tooltip player_id='443006' first='Allie' last='Collier'] splitting time at setter.
