[player_tooltip player_id='435843' first='Carly' last='Dawson'] has leaped into the top ten. She had a big time club season for [program_tooltip program_id='430006' first='Illini' last='Elite'] 16 Cardinal and has given her verbal commitment to play at Iowa. I was able to see her first at Triple Crown in Kansas City this past Presidents Day and knew it would be an exciting recruiting process for her heading into the summer. It was a quick one, committing to the Hawks which has a roster sprinkled with plenty of Illinois preps. Dawson's length and athleticism is what is really impressive about her game. The way she can jump and contact at a high point is impressive. She gets better each time she touches the court.

When I saw Haderman commit to Northern Iowa, I couldn't help but think how much sense this makes. Haferman is the type of player UNI has taken and molded into All Conference and even All American type of athletes. She has plenty of length where she can attack from either pin and from the backrow. Being at [program_tooltip program_id='430006' first='Illini' last='Elite'], she has the all around fundamental base that allows her to serve receive, defend, block, and score points. She was one the other side of the net that others had to game plan against. She made quite the combo with [player_tooltip player_id='435843' first='Carly' last='Dawson'] on the 16 Cardinal squad where this team will be sure to have more commits coming their way.

What a spark plug for [program_tooltip program_id='432009' first='Sky' last='High'] 16 Elite. Bobbi Wire has always been that combo player who can attack on the outside or be utilized as an attacking defensive specialist. I was able to see this team a few times the last couple of months and Wire came up with some big swings at crucial times. She plays with an aggressive, competitive style - generating energy for her team. This team had quite the past month competing at AAU Nationals and then following that up with winning the 16 USA Division at USAV Nationals in Dallas. She will have plenty of options at the next level with her all around skill set and intangibles that are extremely positive.

I watched this 1st Alliance 16 Gold team in Kansas City and continued to follow them throughout the season. [player_tooltip player_id='529827' first='Farryn' last='Burridge'] was a new one on my radar who I didn't know much about, but watching this team she continued to do positive things as a middle blocker. She brings a physical style of play getting her hands pressed on her block while being able to transition to become available to attack with multiple tempos. I also like how she can really hype up her teammates on a big play. I was able to watch this team again for the final time this season in Dallas and she moves so well and plays with intensity. Her ceiling is very high and will be fun to track her progress along the way.

Every time I was on the [program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='Adversity' last=''] court, I always seemed to write down #20. That's [player_tooltip player_id='490072' first='Freya' last='McBride'], the libero for [program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='Adversity' last=''] 16 Adidas. I was really impressed with her platform control and range. There are always liberos who can throw their body all over the court to make the highlight, but what I liked about McBride is that she made difficult plays look routine. She can take pace off a hard swing, pick up tips and roll shots, and can put up a controlled second ball. I think she's a steal at the next level.

I don't even think Herrick was ranked at the beginning of the club season. With athletes going from 15s to 16s sometimes it takes a bit to get on the radar and rise. [player_tooltip player_id='672165' first='Hannah' last='Herrick'] was so impressive this club season for Sports Performance 16 Elite. She has a lot of length, athleticism, and pop to her swing and I think her best volleyball is still ahead of her. She can handle a high volume of swings. There is a full bag of options in her repertoire where she can go hard cross, high line, and mix in a roll shot. A true point scorer.

Sometimes all it takes is one play for me to write down a name on the notes app and right “Whoa”. That was [player_tooltip player_id='781334' first='Zion' last='Palmer'] at nationals for 1st Alliance 16 Black. She was having an impressive match and there was one play where the setter was running a shoot and it went just above the hand of Palmer. They didn't get a kill on the play, but I was impressed with the setter putting the ball up high for her to get and the athletic approach and jump of Palmer was electric. All it took was a glimpse to see what she is capable of what her potential is. This Class of 2027 middles for 1st Alliance is incredibly deep.
