2028 Rankings Update- Middles in the Spotlight

The 2028 class of middles in Washington has excellent representation in the Top 20, with six prospects landing high on the list. With seventeen overall out of the seventy-eight ranked players, the class has a strong group of bigs. The middle position develops late- players are tall and rangy, have not always had the opportunity to serve and play defense consistently, might still be growing, and the learning curve offensively can be high. Once these long, energetic players get comfortable with the footwork and thought process behind the position, they take off.    Bardizian is a diligent worker who makes herself available to her setter in transition and is efficient with her movement and footwork. After she works to get the set, the Silas standout knows how to terminate; she has powerful arms and can rip it to different areas for points. Bardizian is currently the #24-ranked player overall in the 2028 rankings.      The 2028 from Seattle Prep and SIVBC has the opportunity and physicality to be a force at the net. Feider makes life hard on opposing attackers with her strong hands as a blocker, and her offensive game is developing consistency. She makes terrific adjustments when she is in her approach, and figures out ways to be creatively "in" while still generating heat on her swings. The Gig Harbor sophomore was a go-to scorer for her Dakine squad during club, and she plays with excellent energy and passion.     Ries checks in as the #14 middle in the rankings; the Emerald Ridge prospect showed improved aggression as the season went on, and she added a slide attack to her offensive bag. Ries can drop in a soft, well-placed tip with either hand; she has good vision and works around the block. Her commitment to closing the block and getting off the net in transition is outstanding. As she gets older and adds strength, she will continue to improve as a player.      Jensen has a live arm and gets off the ground quickly as an attacker. The Wenatchee prospect is relatively new to the game compared to some, having started a bit later than many players. That being said, she possesses all the athletic ability and length to be a difference-maker, and her armswing and approach are solid. Wenatchee knows how to find and train attackers; expect Jensen to be another success story for the Panthers. She is currently ranked 78th in the 2028 rankings.
