Recruiting Radar: High-Level Hitters Shine at Up Next: SoCal

The Up Next: SoCal Showcase, held August 23, 2025, at Prime Volleyball Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, featured a wave of rising talent from the Classes of 2030–2032. Several young hitters showcased skills well beyond their age. They brought power, confidence, and shot-making that turned heads throughout the event. From explosive swings at the net to fearless finishes against tough defenses, they proved they're already on track to become the next generation of high-level offensive threats.    Blake was an instant standout at the showcase and a certified banger. She was aggressive from start to finish, hammering the ball but also mixing up her shots. Just when the defense thought they had her timed, she'd drop in a tip and show off her growing IQ. The eighth grader played with confidence and was all smiles the entire event. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller     Shuli has a really nice swing, strong mechanics, and a lightning-fast arm that drives the ball down with authority. This powerful seventh grader consistently earned her kills and proved she's a great fit at outside hitter. Shuli was a key contributor for her team and made an impact every time she stepped on the court. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller     Layla brings serious power and a strong, aggressive approach. She attacks every ball with purpose, rising high and driving it down with authority. Already ahead of her time, she played with confidence, all smiles throughout the event, and connected effortlessly with her teammates. The future is bright for this rising talent. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller     Gail started the event strong with big, confident swings. Even without tracking kills, it was clear in just a few minutes that she could put the ball away back-to-back. She hit clean, unstoppable attacks past the block straight to the floor. In team play, Gail was a key contributor and consistently made an impact. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller     Kassidy gets on top of the ball and can consistently put it down with a high reach and a strong snap. Already 5'10” with a solid vertical, she was hitting over blocks and giving opponents no chance to defend. Kassidy is bouncy, athletic, and has all the tangibles you look for in a middle. Remember the name. — Kantessa Bryant-Miller     Setarosa is a wall at the net, blocking everything in her path. She also put away hard-hit kills and demonstrates excellent body control for her height at just seventh grade. Her potential is limitless, and she's clearly ahead of the curve.
