For girls here, volleyball carries the same weight and tradition that hockey does for boys. The growth has been remarkable, with new clubs forming each year to meet the demand of a talent pool that only gets deeper. Minnesota clubs are no longer just participating on the national stage — they're competing with, and beating, some of the best teams in the country.

Over the past few years, we've had the privilege of watching this wave of talent develop, and now we're seeing many of these athletes make the jump to Division I programs, bringing their grit, skill, and passion to the highest level of the game. To call it exciting would be an understatement — it's an honor to witness players who have already left their mark on the sport continue their journey. So, who are the standouts we're spotlighting today? Let's take a closer look.

[player_tooltip player_id='478380' first='Hayden' last='Reeder'] – Outside Hitter – University of Arizona Commit

There's dominant, and then there's [player_tooltip player_id='478380' first='Hayden' last='Reeder']. With over 1,100 career kills, 900 digs, and 100 aces already under her belt, she has rewritten what it means to be a six-rotation outside in Minnesota. The #1 outside hitter in the state, Reeder plays with a fearlessness that makes her unstoppable. She brings a heavy arm that shreds blocks, a vision to score from every angle, and the discipline to stay lethal in out-of-system swings. In the backcourt, she tracks hitters like a libero and keeps rallies alive with game-changing digs. Reeder isn't just productive — she's a program-changer, the type of player who takes over matches and refuses to let her team lose. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='199393' first='Sidney' last='Burley'] – DS/Libero – University of Kentucky Commit

If volleyball had a heartbeat, it would sound like [player_tooltip player_id='199393' first='Sidney' last='Burley']'s defense. The #1 DS/Libero in Minnesota, Burley doesn't just control the backcourt — she owns it. Her serve-receive is automatic, her platform angles flawless, and her ability to read attackers is unmatched. She gets to balls that most players give up on, turning would-be points into second-chance opportunities for her team. On serve, her lethal jump float can dismantle entire rotations. What makes Burley special is her fire — she raises the energy every time she touches the floor, giving her team confidence and opponents headaches. Kentucky is getting not just a libero, but a competitor built for the SEC spotlight. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='180652' first='Rayna' last='Christianson'] – Setter – Creighton Commit

Every great offense needs a conductor, and [player_tooltip player_id='180652' first='Rayna' last='Christianson'] is the best in Minnesota at running the show. A six-rotation force and the state's #1 setter, Christianson delivers balls with precision, rhythm, and tempo that keep blockers frozen. She runs her offense like a chess match, always two steps ahead — feeding her middles in transition, pushing tempo to the pins, and knowing exactly when to drop in a well-timed dump. Her hands are clean, her decisions ruthless, and her presence undeniable. More than a setter, she's a floor general whose leadership elevates everyone around her. Creighton is getting a competitor ready to command the court from day one. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='199396' first='Madeline' last='Kraft'] – DS/Libero – Minnesota Gophers Commit

When the game speeds up, [player_tooltip player_id='199396' first='Madeline' last='Kraft'] slows it down with pure composure. The #2 DS/Libero in Minnesota, Kraft thrives under pressure, turning chaos into control with her smooth first contact. She covers the floor with speed and anticipation, extending rallies and making plays that flip momentum. Her passing is elite, consistently delivering perfect balls that give setters the entire playbook. Kraft's grit shows up in the big moments — diving, sprawling, and sacrificing her body to keep the ball alive. With her commitment to the Gophers, Kraft is stepping into the Big Ten with the toughness and skillset to shine against the nation's best attackers. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

[player_tooltip player_id='199394' first='Romi' last='Chlebecek'] – Outside Hitter – University of Denver Commit

When it comes to point scorers, [player_tooltip player_id='199394' first='Romi' last='Chlebecek'] is a nightmare for defenses. With 1100+ kills and counting, she has carved out her spot as Minnesota's #2 outside hitter, and for good reason. Chlebecek unloads with a whip-fast arm that can overpower blocks or finesse shots into deep corners. She's a six-rotation hammer who brings firepower from the front and back row, refusing to let the ball hit the floor without a fight. Her adaptability sets her apart — whether facing double blocks, off-speed junk, or tight sets, she finds a way to score. Ranked as Minnesota's #3 outside hitter, Lunski is the kind of attacker every team needs when the match gets tight. She terminates on the pin with precision, but what sets her apart is her versatility — she can blast cross-court, go high hands, or finesse shots to open space. Her all-around game makes her invaluable in six rotations, where she contributes in serve-receive, defense, and transition. Lunski is a competitor with a fearlessness you can't teach — when the match is on the line, she wants the ball in her hands. St. Thomas is getting a cornerstone player built to lead. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Thank you to all my readers for making this journey possible.
