It's hard to miss Brubaker when scanning the court. The 6-foot-8 junior casts a large shadow. In scouting Brubaker on the club circuit, there's plenty of athleticism and agility packed into this prospect. She brings a lot more to the table than being tall. Brubaker has taken her game up a notch since the spring. She'd produced 264 kills through her team's first 30 matches, hitting an incredibly efficient .466. Her 85.0 blocks were among the most in the state, regardless of class. An imposing figure in the middle of the net already, Brubaker has plenty of room to go before reaching her potential. She can improve her skills and is working hard to do so. Brubaker's ceiling is among the highest in the state.

Largent should have been on the radar of college coaches following last season's 433 kills as a sophomore. If any of them missed her or forgot her performance, the 11th-grader has kept it rolling in 2025. She'd piled up 234 kills through only 17 matches, raising her hitting percentage from a year ago. Largent also contributes defensively in the back row and at the net. The latter is where she stands out. The pin is where she's most effective and comfortable, but her jumping ability, timing and swing work in the middle as well. Largent is a solid all-around athlete with room to sharpen her volleyball skills, leaving plenty of room to go before reaching her considerable potential.

I've scouted Ramler on the club circuit and in school ball for the last few seasons. She's steadily made progress in all aspects of her game, including adding versatility at the net. A middle hitter by trade, Ramler showed during the past club campaign that she could be effective at the opposite pin. That made sense when considering she's athletic and agile in the middle. Ramler continues sharpening her skills, becoming a more consistent hitter and executing the block better. Ramler's 229 kills ranked in the Top 20 among all players in the state heading into to first week of October. A .394 hitting percentage highlighted her efficiency. She'd also recorded a team-best 28.0 blocks.

Edgington impressed me with her play when a scouted her PowerPlex team a few times during the club season. On a loaded roster, she managed to make noise. That's why it's not surprising to see her excelling in school ball as a junior this fall. Edgington recorded 207 kills heading into the first week of October. She also chipped in 60 digs and 16.0 blocks, highlighting her skills as an all-around volleyball player. Edgington is an explosive athlete with leaping ability and hang time. She generates a good amount of power in her swing from both pins. Edgington has a lot more room to go before reaching her potential, which should be attractive to colleges.

Hoegh has been a key contributor for her high school and club teams for years. She has a broad base of skills allowing her to chip in all around the court. Through her team's first 22 matches of 2025, Hoegh had pounded out 206 kills, far and away the most among Comets. She also led the way with 172 digs. While she isn't best used as a setter for her prep squad, she can handle that position just fine as well. Not the tallest talent at the pin, Hoegh succeeds with a bouncy vertical leap and hang time. She's a technically-sound volleyballer that maximizes her abilities. Hoegh also has plenty of room for development before reaching her potential.

As expected, Waukee is back in the championship hunt after breaking through to the state tournament last season with a youthful roster. Davis was a big piece of that equation and has continued producing as a junior this year. She'd piled up 475 assists through the Warriors' first 22 matches of 2025. Highlighting her all-around ability at setter, she'd also contributed 107 digs, 47 kills and 16.0 blocks. Davis is one of the more cerebrally-sound players at her position in the state. She can carry out any task asked of her and learns from opponent tendencies, exposing them later in matches. Davis shows especially good timing and vision to end points into the donut.
