<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In Minnesota, students can begin playing varsity sports in 7th grade. Therefore, you will occasionally see 7th and 8th graders on the varsity squads. In rare occasions, you will see them on the courts and in the rarest cases, they will start for the varsity squad and put up some huge numbers. While the class of 2030 is yet to be ranked, here are some young players putting up huge stats this prep season. Check out a few of the young studs in Minnesota that are having a huge impact for their high school teams.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Remember to follow me on Instagram @Prepdigamy and Facebook @PrepDig Amy for up to date event coverage, stories, and more.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["889542"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68d6ad384e778"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">This 8th grader setter has the perks of learning from the second most winningest coach in Minnesota, Lonnie Morken. In her debut season of running the varsity court, 8th grade Rein has unleashed 30 aces and a whopping 635 assists, averaging 10.1 assists/set (one of the highest in the state).&nbsp; When watching her play, Rein does a solid job getting her feet to the ball to deliver a clean, consistent set.&nbsp; She also does a good leading her attackers, so they are positioned for success. In addition, Rein also gets it done on the defensive end. She has 147 digs on the season, averaging 2.3 digs/set as well.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["889544"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68d6ad384e65f"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Tut is an outside hitter that I had the privilege to watch at a recent tournament in Rochester. While I knew she was young, I didn't realize at the time that she was only in 8th grade as she certainly doesn't play like it.&nbsp; Tut currently averages about 1.3 kills/set contributing to the offense on a successful team that is over .500 on the season. While Tut may be young, she already has a “toolbox” full of shots. She will hit the cross shot, will roll, and will also tip to open spots on the court to generate kills or get teams out of system.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["889541"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68d6ad384e5f5"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Another 8th grade setter running the courts is also in southeastern Minnesota hails from the small town of Spring Grove. So far the young Sherburne has put up 244 assists in her first varsity season, averaging 8.1 assists/set. Sherburne does a solid job setting the ball to the pin and finding her middles when off the net.&nbsp; She also poses as an additional attack option being a lefty. She will attack or dump on the second ball, forcing teams to be on their toes on defense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["771236"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68d6ad384e7c1"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">8th grade libero/ds Blahosky is not new to hefty competition. She played up 2 ages levels in the club season with [program_tooltip program_id='429186' first='Kandi' last='Elite'] and it has prepared her for varsity volleyball. I remember watching her in the spring and was awe struck at how quick her read was on the ball as well as how good her serve receive was for such a young player, so it is not surprising that she would be on varsity as an 8th grader.&nbsp; Blahosky has risen to the occasion and is putting up huge numbers this season. She currently average 6.9 receptions/set and 3.3 digs/set at Willmar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["889545"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68d6ad384e801"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">5'10” middle Oman is having a stellar year on her Lyle Pacelli team, putting up huge numbers on both offense and defense. Attacking out of the middle and running the slide, Oman has racked up 84 kills on the season, averaging 1.8 kills/set.&nbsp; She also has an outstanding 36 blocks along with 14 aces. &nbsp;Oman is going to be one to keep an eye on as she has the capacity to go far in the volleyball world.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
