Sauk Rapids-Rice Named MN Section 8AAA Champions

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the first time since 2021, the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm has clinched their ticket to the 2025 3A MN State Tournament. The Storm stood strong through a close five set match winning 15-13 in the final set against Annandale.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Storm will compete on Wednesday, November 5th at the Grand Casino Arena, formally known as the Xcel Energy Center. Her ability to read the opponents and pick up tips and roll shots kept the ball in play and allows her teammates to aggressively send the ball over. Marketon was able to move around her hitters and run multiple plays to work around the opponents defense. She easily was able to get her hitters a high playable ball when out of system to run a fast attack. She is constantly moving and ready to play the ball. Making every play aggressive, she does not make it easy for the other team to defend their court. Her agility allows her to transition quickly off of the net and put herself in position to attack. Her fast approach and high contact gives her ultimate control of where the ball is placed. Hitting down the line, sharp cross, or tipping to the campfire, Lambaere makes her opponents move. Scoring multiple points by tipping around the defense kept her team energized and excited. Her quick transition allows her to run multiple routes successfully to score or to pull the block away from her teammates. Her loud energy and communication create in system plays for her teammates. Peterson is quick to get up and block her opponents. Her big approach allowed her to create power and guide the ball around the blockers. When blocking, she is successful at setting her block right in front of her hitter and stopping the ball. She continuously scored points due to her ability to read her opponents defense. Changing up shots and locations left the opponents guessing and continued to successfully get the ball down. Her deeper shots and attacks caught the defense off guard and made it hard for them to get in system. Defensively Anderson was constantly hustling to pick up shots from the opponents. Her sharp line shots caused the opponents defense to shank multiple balls and adding more kills to Rogholt's stats. Her ability to read and move in line with the hitter's swing created many in system plays for her team that ended with a kill. She never gave up on a play and was ready to cover her hitters, defend setter dumps, and run up to get a short tip. Every now and then dumping the ball to catch the defenders off guard and scoring during intense rallies. By moving around her hitters and getting to the ball quickly, she speeds up her offense creating trouble for the opponents.
