The Goliad Tigers are arguably one of the top frontrunners to run the table. Their overall record of 38-3 and a perfect 10-0 district record prove their case for now. They have some special players that can also back up their claim as one of the top squads. Middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='822462' first='Maevyn' last='Wunsch'] is very athletic and quick off of the ground as she rises up to attack. She has a great understanding of turning in mid-air and cutting the ball back to the right back zone to score more easily out of the middle during quick attacks. I love the mentality and grittiness of setter [player_tooltip player_id='727263' first='Isabel' last='Sanchez'] and libero [player_tooltip player_id='808407' first='Karolynn' last='Youngblood']. They both do a great job of keeping the ball off of the floor and setting their team up for success. Isabel also excels in scoring on dumps all over the court when the opposition least expects it. Miss Youngblood is one of the fastest liberos there is in the 3A division. She really understands her role and plays it to perfection. I love how she covers all of her hitters perfectly so that they can swing with confidence knowing that she is behind them incase they get blocked. Right side [player_tooltip player_id='580065' first='Sophi' last='Wallek'] gives her team a lot of production in both offense and defense. She is extremely valuable to their winning ways. One of their big weapons happens to be [player_tooltip player_id='546747' first='Addison' last='Yendrey'] who plays all six rotations and excels in both front row and back row. The talented pin is extremely explosive as an attacker and she will lead the scoring in the playoffs. The smart money is on them to be in the mix at the end and have a legit shot at the title.

The Boyd Yellowjackets bring a perfect 12-0 district record and an overall record of 30-9 into the playoffs. They are led by some great senior experience that can take them on a deep run. [player_tooltip player_id='837096' first='Addy' last='Delgado'] is the big gun that this squad looks to in order to score. Her big arm has amassed 477 kills on a great .264 hitting percentage. The five foot ten left side attacker is a double digit kill waiting to happen. This young lady has power for days and shows it off from both the left side and right side of the court. They even bring her around to the middle for second tempo routes that are almost a guaranteed kill with each attempt. [player_tooltip player_id='823179' first='Annabelle' last='Nichter'] is a fellow senior who can score in bunches. She provides a great amount of firepower to take some of the heat off of Delgado. The tall middle is great at blocking also and the team celebrates well as she creates the momentum. Setter Cami McIntire moves the ball around well and also is not afraid to play front row and battle at the net as a blocker. She has also added 160 kills of her own to light the fire on offense. She plays the game with a lot of fire. Middle Bayleigh Medlock uses timely tips away from the strong side of the defense to score and has long arms to be deceptive with it. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='663339' first='Bryleigh' last='Wallace'] is tough from the service line and back row. She's not afraid to swing during out of system plays either. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='805070' first='Jalynn' last='Starnes'] has been a solid contributor on offense as she has tallied 214 kills on the year. We think this team will definitely be one of the teams to beat once it is all said and done. Stay tuned to see how far they can go.
