Outstanding Competitors at the PD Exposure SoCal Tour

I was absolutely elated to have the opportunity to see and cover the PrepDig Exposure Tour of SoCal today. The level of talent I witnessed was extraordinary, and over the next few days, I look forward to detailing some of the best competitors on the court. As the exposure tour wrapped, the following players were still on my mind and I wanted to take quick second to highlight them first. She brings exceptional strength and quickness to her attacking game, consistently generating high level swings that make opponents cringe. She is also a solid defender. She repeated showcased great defensive instincts, with swift reactions and controlled positioning. Overall, she stands out as a superb, well-rounded player with extreme potential to play at high levels.     Roberts showcased a quick, efficient swing that makes her a pivotal offensive weapon. She transitioned quickly from the middle as well as the both pins, showing not only a range and versatility but that she also has the ability to contribute to her team in whatever capacity they may need. With her combination of speed, resilience, and versatile skill set, she has the potential to compete at the next level and be an impactful player to any team.     Santos is an outside hitter that has a dynamic presence on the court. She consistently taking big, confident swings that leave opponents stunned. One of the reasons that is so effective is due to her speed and movements. She transitions quickly laterally as well as off the net, demonstrating excellent agility and court awareness. Her swift reactions allow her to get to the ball quickly, be highly effective on defense, and be impactful on every play. With her speed, explosiveness, and endurance, she is a versatile and impactful outside who make a huge difference on any team.     Initially, I thought Stevens was a libero due to exceptional defensive skills, however, once I saw her take a turn in the setter position, it became quite clear she is a talented setter who just also knows how to play solid defense. Stevens stood out due to the fact that she jumps set with ease all while maintaining a consistent, well-paced tempo that keeps her hitters producing. She has excellent court awareness which also allowed her to execute perfectly placed setter dumps that caught her opponents off guard. Stevens is definitely the trifecta - she has the great combination of defensive skills, consistent face paced setting, and that high setter IQ that make her an exceptional leader to have on the court at all times.     I am a HUGE fan of lefty setters, especially ones that can attack at the net. Thus, it was no surprise that lefty Baker caught my eye. Baker has "game" with a huge presence on the court. She runs the net confidently, showcasing smart movements and exceptional court awareness, while delivering well-placed sets that position her hitters for success. However, opponents need to wary of her. This lefty will take a big swing on second balls and opponents will pay for each time if they aren't careful. Only an 8th grader, Baker is a fun and impactful player to watch. She is only going to get better and better and as she continues to grow and develop her game, she is going to make quite the name for herself.
