It has been a pleasure for us, at Prep Dig Texas, to continue to cover the decisive moments of another season of high school volleyball in our state and attending as many matches as possible every week in the Houston area, producing articles, photos and social media posts that highlight the impressive performances and accomplishments of our players.

On Tuesday, November 11, we were in attendance when a spot in the State Tournament was in play between the Tompkins Lady Falcons and the Stratford Lady Spartans in the Division 2 Regional Final, at Delmar Fieldhouse.

Playing on the right, the senior was a key piece in Tompkins' victory, producing consistently throughout the match and coming up big in important moments for them. Elsasser used her length and firepower extremely well on offense, scoring at a good rate - she converted 12 of her 23 swings into points and was very good when hitting the slide. The senior also got the ball in key moments and delivered, scoring the final points in the last two sets, getting the game-winner after some consecutive errors from her team. Elsasser also had a strong blocking presence, getting four stops and challenging Stratford's pin hitters throughout the match.

The sophomore outside hitter delivered a strong all-around performance and held things together for Tompkins with her play. St. Rose was her team's primary scoring option and, even if making a few more errors than usual, produced at a high level, registering 14 kills in swings from the pin and the middle back position. She was a key piece in the team's defensive system, contributing 22 passes and ten digs. St. Rose also got a block and an ace to round up a solid overall performance.

The senior libero had an excellent match, standing out in the back row for Tompkins with impressive production. Monroe did great work in serve-receive, leading the team with 28 passes, and was very accurate with her deliveries. The libero also thrived on defense, displaying excellent positioning and superior ball control to register ten digs. Monroe's serving was game-changing for the Lady Falcons, as, besides tallying five aces, she had long serving runs both in the first set, helping her team create massive separation, and in the fourth set, allowing them to recover their best form after a strong push from Stratford.

Another senior, the middle stepped up and played a major role in the team's victory. Playing very aggressively at the net, Funk was Tompkins' best blocker, getting six stops, some of them in key moments of the match. Her offense was also very productive, with eight kills registered in 19 swings. As one of the most veteran players, she also played an important leadership role, communicating with her teammates and keeping them calm in the moments of pressure.

Stratford's creative setter kept her team in the game with her intelligent and crafty playmaking. Cook was in a difficult spot in the first set, when Stratford struggled with their passing, but once that got stabilized, she stood out with her smart distribution. The setter did a great job of easing freshman outside hitter Ellie Chamorro into the game and making of her an important offensive weapon for the team. Cook also contributed with setter dumps and swings, besides serving well and playing solid defense.

The freshman outside hitter came off the bench in the biggest game of her young high school career and responded very well. Chamorro settled into the game quickly and immediately became one of Stratford's main offensive options. She used her length very well at the pin and showed a great variety of shots, while making very few errors. Chamorro also handled well the few serves that went her way and ended the match on a high.
