Competing against some of the top young talent in the country, these athletes played with poise, fire, and maturity beyond their years. This division showed that when Arizona's youngest talent gets the spotlight, they know exactly what to do with it.   Find out below who stood out:    Kalenna is redefining what high-level defense looks like — and she's doing it with a maturity far beyond her years. Her ability to read hitters, anticipate angles, and react instantly against elite competition was one of the most impressive defensive performances of the tournament. She doesn't just chase balls down — she positions early, stays balanced, and controls first contact with intention. Her team finished 2nd place, just shy of that Gold, and she kept them right in there.   What makes it even more remarkable? She's an 8th grader playing up on a 15s team — and you would never know it. There's no hesitation in her game, no moment too big. She moves with confidence, communicates like a veteran, and consistently puts herself in the right spot.   Her serve was another weapon. Tough, aggressive, and strategic — it disrupted opposing offenses and kept her team alive in several tight battles. Kalenna doesn't just play defense; she changes momentum from the back row. You can see the trust her teammates have in her — it shows in her out-of-system decisions, her court coverage, and the way she identifies open space.   Steady. Vocal. Dependable. The kind of player every team needs in the back row.     Presley was an impressive presence on the pin all weekend long. Impactful from both the left and right side, she consistently found ways to score — whether it was tooling the block, beating high hands, or exploiting seams. Her vertical allows her to play above the net, and she uses it with confidence.   What truly separates Presley is her net game. She doesn't just jump — she presses. Her blocking form is picture-perfect, sealing space with strong hands and disciplined technique. It's extremely difficult to hit through her because she's intentional with every move. Nothing about her game feels accidental or rushed — she reads, reacts, and executes.   A high-IQ attacker with a strong presence at the net, Presley impacts both sides of the ball in a big way.     Kora plays the outside position well beyond her years. Her transition game is advanced — she moves quickly off the net, gets her feet to the ball, and swings with confidence and pace. When she attacks, she does it with authority.   What makes her especially impressive is her stability. She's a calming, consistent presence on the court — the kind of athlete teammates lean on in tight moments. Though she has the length and size you want on the pin, she refuses to be one-dimensional. Her back-row defense and serve receive are strong, controlled, and disciplined — a rare combination for a tall, young outside.   Most importantly, Kora is a true competitor. In tough moments, she doesn't shy away — she steps forward. She wants the ball. She wants the responsibility. And she's not afraid to make the play when it matters most.   Big presence. All-around impact. High ceiling.     Leah's defense this weekend was absolutely electric. It was nearly impossible to take your eyes off her during a match because she consistently found ways to impact the play. Her presence in the back row made a huge difference, and her level of performance was a major factor in her team finishing on top this weekend.   In serve receive, Leah was rock solid — delivering clean, controlled passes that kept her team running smoothly. Defensively, she never let up. Her motor was nonstop, even going as far as taking down some signage while chasing a ball to keep the rally alive. That kind of effort perfectly captures the grit and tenacity she brings every time she steps on the court.   Leah plays fearless, with a relentless willingness to do whatever it takes to help her team win. Simply put, every team needs a player like Leah anchoring their defense.     Leighton was an absolute force for her 14 Lightning squad this weekend. She made high-level defensive plays look routine, coming up with impressive saves and extending rallies when her team needed it most. In serve receive, she was calm and composed — making it look easy while consistently delivering a quality first contact.   Her quickness truly separates her. Leighton covers an incredible amount of court with efficiency and control, reading hitters early and positioning herself before the ball even crosses the net. She doesn't just react — she anticipates.   Her out-of-system ball is effective and intentional, allowing her team to stay aggressive even in scramble situations. She understands tempo, delivers hittable balls, and keeps plays alive with purpose.   A relentless defender with high volleyball IQ and range well beyond her years.     Lily is the kind of opposite who can quickly frustrate opposing hitters because of how impactful she is at the net. Her blocking presence is a true difference-maker, consistently taking away angles and forcing attackers to rethink their approach. Even some of the most talented hitters struggled to find ways around her disciplined hands and strong net presence.   Offensively, Lily brings another major advantage with her left-handed swing. The natural angles she creates put pressure on defenses and make her a difficult player to defend. She's confident and decisive in her approach, giving her setter a reliable scoring option when her team needs it most.   Between her disruptive block and her ability to terminate with her lefty attack, she provides a steady, dependable presence on the right side and is a player opponents always have to account for. She was an offensive threat in every rotation, creating scoring opportunities both from the back row and at the net.
