Prep volleyball athletes rarely spend their entire career at a single position. Whether it's due to changing circumstances or an evolving skill set, players tend to move around the dial and exhibit their potential at various spots. This adaptation gives college recruiters a lot to think about.

Nebraska's Class of 2028 has set a high bar for multi-position stardom. We've already covered several of these versatile gems on surprise teams and 17s squads. Today's feature adds to the list of do-everything leaders who will present plenty of options when the recruiting window opens next month.

The middle-pin hybrid role has become a prevailing trend among Nebraska's elite 2028 attackers. Bauer has embodied this duality perfectly through her work with Lincoln Southeast and [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last='']. This long, rangy terminator has primarily played on the pin with LSE, allowing her to take plenty of attacking volume and lead the Knights' offense. It's a worthy strategy that yielded the team's first state tournament appearance since 2017. However, Bauer shifts to the middle for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 17 Elite and has anchored the net for this surefire GJNC frontrunner. Perhaps quadruple qualification in the 17 Open division is enough to get your attention.

Coaches are always partial to left-side hitters with some six-rotation impact. That's what Callahan has provided for her Premier Nebraska 16 Gold crew, and the results speak for themselves. This Omaha Skutt Catholic prep athlete rose to prominence during last year's run to a GJNC title, but 2026 has already raised the bar further. Regardless of whether Callahan plays across the net, her passing and backcourt defense make her a mainstay in the 16 Gold lineup. Ball control was a huge factor in propelling Premier Nebraska to another coveted Open berth, so we'll see Callahan spar with the nation's best this postseason.

This setter-opposite trailblazer has been climbing the ladder since Milford's state title triumph last fall. Her termination role took precedence for last year's championship crew, culminating in nearly 2.4 kills per set on the team's second-best hitting percentage. But Muller's tenure with Nebraska ONE 16 Titanium has brought her smooth setting back into focus. She dishes the team's offense with tremendous pace and is not afraid to work her middles in marginal situations. Muller is also back to her ways as a game-changing server who can instantly alter momentum from the end line. We've learned to expect a little of everything.

We're sticking with the [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Titanium crew for another entry. This Open-level competitor has not been afraid to shift lineups and spin the dial, allowing Wiig to showcase her all-purpose strength at the net. She provides immediate upgrades to the team's length in the middle or on the right side. Wiig has shown her willingness to terminate on either side of the setter and is particularly effective off two feet. Moreover, her ability to make quick reads allows her to anchor a block from any spot. This is a future building block in the junior ranks.

It's hard to pass on this Minden star, who has been part of Nebraska's most successful small-town crew on the club circuit. Cederburg is a past Prep Dig Showcase standout who has locked down the net with her outstanding middle defense. She also enjoyed a big uptick in production in Year 2 with Minden, producing over 200 kills as a go-to middle blocker. However, Cederburg has also shifted over to the right side for South Central NE 16 Black, giving the team some enviable length at the tape. A Show Me championship elevated Cederburg's stock, and another run through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament took that a step further.

Naturally, most setter-hitter standouts operate on the right side while at the net. But that's not always the case for Jacobson, who has proven she can kill the ball from anywhere for Club Legacy 16 Alpha. We've seen this Millard South star flourish as a backcourt distributor on the club side, but her wicked right arm was another clear catalyst for 16 Alpha's GJNC berth. Jacobson can flex between both pins and keep opposing blockers guessing on combination plays. It's a continuation of her multi-faceted hitting role during Millard South's historic season last fall. This is one of Nebraska's most fascinating 2028 prospects, and Jacobson will add to the narrative at USAV Nationals.

Pohlman has represented this year's vaunted Omaha Fusion lineup, and "fusion" is a proper way to describe her variable on-court niches. We've watched this Stanton sophomore expand her horizons on the prep stage, morphing from a hard-hitting outside attacker into the Mustangs' primary setter. That underclassman tenure is only part of the storyline, as Pohlman takes her influence to the back row with Omaha Fusion. We don't often get to see prep setters who can command the serve-receive pattern for their club teams, but Pohlman is a rare commodity among the 2028s. Her diverse highlight tape will expand in Indy this summer.
