Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the Girls Junior National Championship Showcase Session I, held at the Indiana Convention Center on June 24th. The event brought together athletes from across the nation looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors based on what they showed on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='776371' first='Mattea' last='Capozzi'] arrived in Indianapolis already carrying a top-50 overall ranking in the class of 2029 and she left with a Top Performer award that nobody in the building would have argued against. The Harrison libero competing with Boiler Juniors 15-1 brought the kind of platform discipline and lateral floor coverage that makes a defense function at a high level regardless of who is attacking and those qualities were consistent from the first drill segment to the final scrimmage. Court coaches and scouts noted her composure under pressure and the energy she brought throughout the night. She competed with genuine leadership, kept her teammates connected, and handled every situation with the kind of sportsmanship that college staffs pay attention to. We loved what she showed and think she deserves all of the credit. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase.

Brissa Boyd is 6'1" in the class of 2030 and the college coaches who came to Indianapolis to watch the showcase floor on June 24th left with her name in their notebooks. The Saxony Lutheran right side hitter competing with Pursuit 14 National earned a Top Performer award by bringing her physical tools to life in a team setting, competing hard in transition, communicating with teammates she had just met, and producing well. Her net engagement and ability to generate offense from the right pin impressed court coaches throughout the showcase and her sportsmanship and character were just as visible as her physical profile. At this age and at this height, the development runway ahead of her is one of the most compelling things about her recruiting timeline. Programs that start tracking Boyd now are doing the right thing early. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='789370' first='Layla' last='Duncan'] is ranked 11th overall in her state in the class of 2030 and if the college coaches in attendance at the Indiana Convention Center were not already familiar with her, they are now. The 6'3" middle blocker from Chandler Prep playing with Omni 14N1 earned a Top Performer award in Indianapolis by doing what her Prep Dig profile already suggests she does well: staying calm, staying coachable, and competing with a patience and explosiveness that does not always come packaged together in a player this young. Her blocking mechanics and footwork in transition were both evaluated positively by court coaches throughout the event and the manner in which she moved through the system showed a player whose volleyball IQ is developing at a high level. She led through presence, connected with teammates naturally, and brought genuine sportsmanship to every segment of the event. At 6'3" and just beginning her high school career, the conversation around her ceiling is one that programs need to be starting right now. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase.

As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. You can also DM me in Instagram and X by searching @CoachMikeDZ. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Family! Don't be afraid to interact with us. We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments. Keep them coming!
