Making It Out of Pool Play

<p>Pool play for 17s divisions has come to a close today and we have some great Texas talent heading to group one tomorrow morning. 18 teams in Open and USA divsions and 9 have won the right games to still be in the running for gold. We are only half way through play this week, and the competition is heating up! Let's take a look at who put in the work to make it out of pool play. and stay tuned for other divisions dropping soon.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">17 Open </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">HJV 17 Elite's outstanding middle blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='947318' first='Willtrace' last='Ngoh'] means business this week. There is not a block she won't push to close or a point she won't celebrate. Her determined play protects her defense and fuels her teams confidence in winning. She swings aggressively and intently at the net, earning the trust of her setters and teammates to put the ball down when it's needed. Her energy, her powerful swing, and reliable play is what is keeping her team on top of their game.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='534312' first='Lola' last='Peters'], getting the job done for [program_tooltip program_id='475085' first='1United' last=''] 17N Blue as they make it out of 2 hard fought days of pool play. She is running the court with a fast tempo set that is keeping defenders on their toes and her hitters in rhythm. With her size and impressive jump set, it's a guessing game for opponents, giving the edge she needs to keep the game in her favor. Lola does the hard job of controlling the energy on the court all while maintaining composure to run a consistent game. [program_tooltip program_id='475085' first='1United' last=''] is a force with Lola on the court. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='826389' first='Abigail' last='Lemp'], a forceful middle blocker at the net for [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] 17N Green. She is aggressive with a big block that cannot be broken by opponents. On the court, she pairs big energy with a big swing that immediately stands out from the first ball she makes contact with. It doesn't take much to see the strong connection she has with her setters, and the trust her team has in her ability to score the ball. Abigail's forceful play and big energy fuel her team and are big factor in the [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']'s success goung into GJNC.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='359399' first='Kamryn' last='Mullican'], talk about a 6 rotation player! [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation'] 17 Red utilizes her ability to set and swing efficiently, and it is showing this week. Kamryn sets a fast tempo, zero hesitation game. Her hitters trust her and are always ready for her to move the ball. At the net she stay aggressive and has the size to be a threat with a tricky lefty swing that leaves defenses stuck. Speed, tenacity, and decisive play are great weapons in Kamryn's arsenal that are proving to be a major contribution to [program_tooltip program_id='510733' first='Drive' last='Nation']'s run for gold.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='443042' first='Siena' last='Ebert'], a defensive dawg for TAV 17 Black Jon. There is no denying her efforts to keep the defense running on all dylinders every game. She works hard to cover her hitters, make the right reads, and pass a clean ball to start a good play. Siena is comfortable on the court and confident in her reads, leaving little room for hesitation in her game. She can pass, she can serve, and she can make the big plays! It's going to be a hard time to get past her and TAV this week with her leadership in the backcourt.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">17 USA</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1002546' first='Madeline' last='Garcia'], outside hitter for [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] 17N Black Kall, made an impression going into pool play this week. Playing six rotations and being a scoring option at all times for her team has given [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] an edge during play. She has a great swing that is consistent from anywhere on the court, making her a go to hitting option for her setters. While she does a great job scoring for her team, she also exudes great energy every single play that fuels her team point after point. A long week of play requires a player like Madeline that can maintain the court when the competition gets tight.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Outside hitter for Arete 17 Navy Telos, [player_tooltip player_id='831088' first='Samantha' last='Everidge'] came into pool play on fire! She sticks to her fundamentals and is always in position to make a play. Her transition is quick and efficiently, she does well communicating with her setters so she can be an option at all times. When she is set, her reach and vertical keep her in good scoring position. Able to swing to the corners, or elevate above the block and swing straight down, Samantha is a threat no matter who is across the net. There is no doubt she is a spark to her team and is fighting to keep them in the run for gold.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='534305' first='Amelia' last='Albright'], setter/ right side for AJV 17 Adidas that is here to make a statement at nationals. Her set, her swing, her energy are making all the difference for her team. As a setter she is feeding her hitters at the right tempo, distributing the ball well, keeping defenders guessing. At the net she is making blockers pay for leaving her any room down the line, forcing adjustments and opening the court for her teammates. Every point taken by AJV, Amelia is encouraging her team, ensuring momentum stays in their favor.</p>
